Upon check-in, the receptionist informed me she was new and asked me to be patient with her. There was no other staff member in sight. After briefly visiting the room, I returned immediately to reception. The room was not the category I booked. I booked sea view and it was facing the back of the house with an intersection. To my disbelief, the receptionist told me I would need to wait at least an hour (this was at 6 p.m.) because she didn’t know how to process a room change. Her manager was on the phone with her, assisting with another room change, while a line of waiting guests began to form. The manager, I was told, was “busy with other important matters.” The receptionist was clearly overwhelmed, and I genuinely felt sorry for her — she was trying her best. But the real issue here is the complete failure of management. What kind of management leaves an untrained employee alone at the front desk during check-in hours — someone who can’t even perform basic functions? What if there had been an emergency? The lack of supervision is not only unprofessional, it’s a serious liability. This is not just poor planning — it's irresponsible.
