An Unforgettable, High-Quality Stay in Lijiang Old Town! As a selective traveller, I am thrilled to say that Arula.J has been the absolute best stay of my Yunnan trip. It excels in every category: 1) Stunning Design: The architecture and interior design are beautifully and thoughtfully curated from the moment you step into the courtyard. It offers a tranquil respite from the busy streets beyond its borders. 2) Perfect Location: Offers seamless, effortless access directly into the Lijiang old town and is just a short walk to the Mu Fu (mansion). 3) Exceptional Comfort & Perks: I was spoiled with a free upgrade to a spacious room that beautifully blends modern amenities (like an automatic toilet) with traditional vibes exuding from the room furniture, fittings and etc. 4) Generous Hospitality: They truly prioritise a premium guest experience, with every staff member providing a warm reception, followed by flexible afternoon tea by the water, a complimentary ethnic outfit photoshoot (all softcopies included), free drinks all-day by the pondside, and a thoughtful parting gift of curated tea leaves. Interacting with Xiao J (their resident deer) and taking photos on the rooftop were absolute highlights. All in all, it has been a flawless experience that enhanced my travel immensely! The butler was incredibly thoughtful and provided excellent service. The location is very convenient, close to the ancient city, offering a peaceful retreat despite being centrally located. The hotel facilities are top-notch, making it perfect for families traveling with children. There's even an activity where kids can feed deer, which my child absolutely loved.

Choosing Tan Cheng Ji Hotel for my first trip to Lijiang was definitely the right decision! Even though the weather wasn't great, the hotel kept my spirits up. It's located right by the South Gate of Lijiang Old Town, with a small direct entrance into the old town, and it's super close to the Mu Palace. Every staff member was incredibly warm and attentive, and they even recommended some delicious restaurants and bars.

This hotel is absolutely fantastic! The butler service was incredibly attentive, with thoughtful touches evident in every detail. The hotel's location is superb, right by the South Gate, with a side entrance leading directly into the ancient town, making transportation very convenient. The rooms are clean and tidy, and the butler was always willing to accommodate any requests we had.

One of my best stay for my Yunnan trip! The staff were all super friendly and courteous, breakfast option may not be huge but it’s very delicious, exceed our expectations for a regular hotel breakfast. Room was great & it’s in a prime location, just beside the Lijiang ancient town. Will definitely be back here again!

My overall stay was beyond expectations, definitely a five-star review! The hotel's location is excellent, making it very convenient for getting around and finding food. The front desk service was warm and attentive, check-in was quick and efficient, and the staff were gentle and polite. The room was clean and tidy, the bedding was soft and comfortable, and the toiletries were complete. The soundproofing was great, allowing me to sleep soundly until morning. The hygiene details were spot-on, the common areas had an elegant ambiance, and the breakfast selection was rich and delicious. This place offers incredible value for money; I'll definitely prioritize it for my next trip. Highly recommended!

Hygiene: Spotlessly clean, with excellent attention to detail; there's nothing to fault. Facilities: Newly opened at the end of 2024, everything is brand new and well-equipped. Service: The staff are warm and humble, quick to respond to requests, and incredibly thoughtful. Environment: A side gate provides direct access to Lijiang Old Town, and it's close to Zhongyi Night Market, making it super convenient for getting around and dining. The accommodation itself is quiet and very livable. 👍👍👍

Cleanliness: Very clean, and all the facilities and amenities were brand new. Ambiance: The garden design is beautiful. Even staying in the hotel during the rain was very comfortable.

The hotel's location was truly excellent, right on the edge of the old town, making it incredibly convenient for exploring while still being tucked away from the hustle and bustle. The room size was surprisingly generous, and the facilities were very complete, making for a very comfortable stay. Both the front desk and housekeeping staff were incredibly friendly, enthusiastic, and attentive. The breakfast spread was extensive and tasted great, leaving us very satisfied. The only minor drawback was that the afternoon tea selection was a bit simple, and since we were out exploring all day, we didn't end up trying it. However, overall, this was still a fantastic stay, and I highly recommend it!

The hotel's location is great, it's clean and hygienic, and the service is absolutely fantastic – the best I've experienced in any hotel. On the day I checked out, my train was quite early, and the hotel even packed breakfast for me, which was incredibly thoughtful. I'll definitely choose to stay here again when I visit Lijiang in the future.

The room facilities are very new, and the service is exceptionally good. The staff, both the young men and women, are really nice and thoughtful. I felt right at home. The turndown service and the warm soup in the evening were all very satisfying.

We booked three rooms for five of us, and it was unanimously the best hotel of our trip. From the environment and amenities to the service, everything was top-notch. Plus, we could order afternoon tea every day. A perfect 100!

The environment here is truly exceptional. Staying at this hotel was incredibly pleasant, surrounded by blue skies, white clouds, distant mountains, and their reflections. The hotel staff provided very thoughtful service; I never felt like a stranger during my stay. It was a really great experience. The room was very comfortable and quiet, and the bed was a particular highlight for me – it was just the right balance of soft and firm, absolutely perfect.

Absolutely loved the vibe of this place! I was drawn in by the reviews, and staying here truly made me realize that the accommodation itself is one of the most important experiences during a trip. The hotel is super easy to find, right at the entrance of the ancient town. The inner courtyard's scenery is a real highlight; it's perfect for photos day or night! My afternoon tea pictures got a ton of likes on WeChat moments. Plus, they have adorable cats – definitely good luck charms! All in all, it was a fantastic stay. The service and amenities totally live up to the price. I'll definitely be recommending it to friends!
