What an amazing getaway! If you are more into nature and culture....THIS IS YOUR SPOT! It is tucked away inside Shuhe Old Town but you would never know. Once you get there, it is quiet. They are very proud to show you their gardens, their squirrels (they are well provided for), their cats, and what they truly enjoy. We were welcomed with drinks, fruit, and delicious buckwheat bread while we were introduced to the dining area and the movie and games area. Their menu is wonderful. Breakfast is provided and has a set menu of Asian versus Western (i had French toast one morning and pancakes the next) and then an extra section where you can also have yogurt with toppings, fruits, breads, coffee, etc. Other meals are ordered from the menu. The variety is wonderful and the taste and quality are worth it. After traveling throughout China for a few weeks, I really just wanted a burger. The Yak burger was amazing! WARNING: once you pick it up for the first bite, you must commit to it. There is no putting it down. My hands were just a joyous mix of meat juice, cheese dripping, pickle juice, egg dripping....luckily there is a restroom right there to wash up after. Our room was very cute, small, odd, but it worked for us and you could tell it would be cozy come the snow seasons-which we will return for. The odd part was the steps that lead down into the bathroom. I thought, oooo how fun! Not so much in the middle of the night if you are not used to it. But not all rooms have that so don't let that discourage you from enjoying this place. If you are finished walking Shuhe Old Town, there are more options. We decided to walk around the back of the garden. Following the trail, we wound up in a very beautiful park with water and bridges and places to sit. Eventually, we came out at one of the ends of Shuhe. Again, you would never have known because there was no interrupting noises to tell you otherwise. One of the days we took Didi to Baisha Old Town. Another must go! We spent a full day there and still did not finish. Even the rain didn't stop everyone from enjoying everything. Make sure you find the silk art school. It is tucked away but they have a wonderful program. I could do an entire blog on their contributions and empowerment for women but for now, just go enjoy and buy something, support them. Overall, we loved this place and will go back. We were not able to enjoy the mountain this time.

The experience was great! The owner was very welcoming, and the staff were all professional. Plus, there were adorable little cats (I spent a long time playing with them every day). The restaurant was also delicious; the pizza and fried rice were both really flavorful. It was the best meal I had in Lijiang, highly recommend!

This was my absolute favorite hotel on my Yunnan trip! The hotel had so many activities! We learned about herbs and made specimens, picked fruits and vegetables, and even wrote Dongba script. The souvenirs were also lovely – handmade lip balm and postcards that I absolutely adored. The bathroom and pantry in the room were so thoughtfully designed, and there was even a mini-cinema in the common area. It definitely lived up to its reputation as a Singaporean-designed hotel. Each room also had a guest book, and the activity guide was available in both Chinese and English. Reading the messages and stories left by previous guests in the room was so interesting. My sister's daughter and I both left our little thoughts in the guest book. The whole experience felt so special and unforgettable. The service from the staff – the young men and women, and the aunties – was incredibly comfortable. They could all speak both Chinese and English, and their professionalism was a cut above what you'd find in a typical hotel. The fruits and vegetables we picked could be prepared at the hotel restaurant for just the normal price of a salad. I absolutely loved that service. The food at the restaurant was also delicious, and during happy hour (2-6 PM), the second drink was half price. As someone who enjoys a drink, I couldn't miss out! I had two and they were both great 👍 (I'll definitely be back for another tipsy session!) Because we had to catch a train the next day, we asked the hotel staff to arrange a driver to take us to the high-speed rail station. Even the driver who took us to the station was very professional and had an employee ID. The auntie also thoughtfully prepared three breakfast boxes for us to take on the car. At 6:20 AM, the uncle on duty drove a tricycle to help us transport our luggage to the north gate. We felt the hotel's professionalism throughout our entire stay. We've promised ourselves we'll definitely, definitely come back next time!!

Everything was perfect, and I'll definitely choose this place again next time I'm in Lijiang. The only minor drawback was that the twin room's layout felt a bit cramped. Aside from the beds, there was hardly any space to sit and relax inside, and unfortunately, it rained during our stay, which made it a little inconvenient. However, as a unique boutique hotel, the overall experience was still fantastic. I especially want to mention that the ladies at the front desk were not only beautiful but also incredibly elegant. Their communication was gentle and pleasant, making the entire check-in process very comfortable. It's truly a place I love, and I highly recommend it!

A guesthouse with a lot of history, tucked away in a quiet spot within the bustling old town! Just a short walk 🚶 out the door and you're on the old town pedestrian street. The staff were very pleasant to chat with. They offered both Chinese and Western meals, and there were quite a few foreign guests.

Located in the old town, transportation might not be the most convenient, especially on rainy days when getting around is quite unpleasant. Overall, the hotel is decent, it's an older establishment, and the facilities do show their age. The staff, however, are very service-minded. And the hotel's fried rice is delicious.

Everyone was super friendly and professional. Even though there are stairs, the ladies (阿妈们) at the parking lot were very enthusiastic and helpful, assisting with luggage from the car and carrying it upstairs. There were many activities at Bivou, which I highly recommend trying – they were very rich and interesting, blending international and local elements wonderfully!

Two 1.2-meter beds were combined to form a large bed, which was very comfortable to sleep in. There are two chairs outside the door, making it very pleasant to sit outdoors.
