We had a peaceful night at Burley Guesthouse. The rooms are well appointed with a comfortable bed and ensuite. The food choices are limited but good quality with a reasonable variety. We placed our order for breakfast and dinner on arrival and nominated an eating time. The dining room is cosy with tables set with fresh flowers. This is the perfect place for a short stay to relax but with limited amenities other than a gorgeous garden and a billiard table, you will need to organise daily activities away from the guesthouse. You help yourself to drinks at the bar, using an honour system and paid for on departure. Drinks are pricey with white wine ranging from $15 - $20 AUD (about 18,000 - 20,000 Kwacha) per glass. Local beer was okay. Staff are friendly and helpful, with Memory and Isaac looking after us beautifully.

Very helpful staff, nice rooms, very well maintained compound all at a reasonable price. Quiet garden and the chance to have diner in their own restaurant. Would like to take the chance, to again thank Memory for her help in organizing a ride out of Lilongwe to Lake Malawi. Excellent. 5 Stars deluxe:)

Always good. Huge beds. Crisp linen sheets. Nice food. Good service. Carpet in rooms. Good food. Lovely garden. Stayed here many times and always impressed. Small enough to be intimate but luxurious enough to challenge bigger Lilongwe hotels.

Most comfortable bed ever! Food was tasty, staff very friendly, a haven of tranquility in Lilongwe. Close proximity of airport. Dinner was perfectly prepared, serviced on time,check in was quick and efficient. Coffee available as self service

I initially chose this Guest House due to proximity to where colleague was staying. They were in 4* hotel they had to move out of due to issues, Burley is classed as 3* but a fantastic place that is worthy of more. From support before arrival arranging transport from airport to the continued service during stay it could not have been better. The beds are comfortable and clean, TV selection good if you have time. Gardens pleasant and breakfasts made fresh to order. All the staff appear friendly and happy, nothing requested is too much bother. The honesty bar develops a sense of family as does the lounge area. I really enjoyed my stay there and would rebook without second thought. We had a hire veh which helped as there is not a lot close by but the Cantina provides a good vibrant restaurant within walking distance.

Burley House in Lilongwe is a nice boutique hotel in a residential area of Lilongwe, well situated, well managed and charming. A small boutique hotel has a personal and friendly staff, providing a family atmosphere with excellent accommodations and facilities. The cuisine and service are amazing in the middle of a beautiful garden and friendly staff.

I have been visiting Lilongwe about five times a year and never found a really nice place to stay...until now. Burley House is a huge house in a lovely garden. It is all open-plan, giving a sense of space and bringing the outside in. The room was carpeted, had quality soft furnishings, a huge bed, satellite TV and aircon. The bathroom was modern and well done. All the staff I met were excellent and both dinner and breakfast were creative, well-presented and tasty. Food prices were very reasonable. It is hard to find a stylish and characterful place in Lilongwe. This is it!
