This is a beautiful old hotel built in the late 1800’s. It’s complete with lacey wrought iron work around the entire facade. I was afraid the rooms would also be old but the rooms were the most modern of our entire trip throughout Australia. So it has tons of old world charm on the outside but modern luxury on the inside. The room was exceptionally clean. The bed was king size and firm and very very comfortable. There was a mini fridge, ironing board, iron, glasses, cups, a kettle, coffee and tea in the room. If you stay here, don’t miss eating at Pier 70 in nearby Paynesville. The hotel restaurant must also be excellent as it was full.

What an awesome hotel. The accommodation is superb. New, clean and modern. A great sized room, well fitted out with conveniences you would expect. The food in the hotel is perfect. Great sized meal and tasty. Very friendly and professional staff I highly recommend this hotel.

We stayed one night at the Grand Terminus hotel in Bairnsdale check in & out was a breeze. The lady who checked us in was very friendly & nice and informed us about the koala on the island across the river & how to catch the car ferry to see them. The rooms were spotless,bed comfortable, & I must say the shower & bathroom looked wonderful and worked well. We were asked if we wanted to make a reservation in the bistro thank heavens we did for a Monday the bistro was packed. We ordered the meals & in no time the meals were on the table, delicious pub food. ( See the photos ) I would definitely return for both the accommodation & the bistro.

As a local, we eat here quite regularly. The Terminus always serves great food but what really stands out as well is the great service! When every thing else is shut the Terminus seems to be always open and so is often out ‘go to’ when we feel like a meal out.

Lovely restaurant with good restaurant quality food and dynamic service. The salmon with a mild curry sauce was nice, washed down by a local beer “Sailors Grave Drowned Man IPA “ There was also a TAB which was clean and tidy. Good screen to watch the tennis.

Booked a table for lunch at The Terminus Hotel Bairnsdale . The décor in the dining room was stunning, lamb bowl very tasty and the pork ribs fell off the bone. All backed up by the excellent customer service. Visit and enjoy.

Great location, excellent restaurant, delicious food… great elevated pub grub! Room small, but meticulously clean and the bathroom is freshly decorated and modern. Bed is very comfortable, Staff are courteous and helpful. Well worth a stop and stay… only drawback no lift or secure parking
