Hotel Rosengarten
"Unfortunstely the receptionist was very unfriendly. The house and the location are very nice. Good value."
Best Western Plus Hotel Ostertor
"I stayed at this centrally located hotel during a training course. The city center and bus station are just a few minutes away. The train station is also easily accessible. The hotel is fairly large. The rooms are air-conditioned, spacious, and some are wheelchair accessible. The hotel has a restaurant. The hotel staff were always friendly."
Thehotel at Lippischer Hof
Checkinn Hotel
"The room is clean and the service is good."
Waldhotel Bärenstein
"I stayed at the Hotel Bärenstein for four nights in July 2024 as part of a family event. We were 18 people altogether, plus an additional six who attended a function and stayed for one night. My family of four had two double rooms. The rooms were very spacious and well-equipped with a TV, coffee/tea station, fridge, free bottle of water and ample storage space. No A/C, though, but the weather wasn’t too hot, fortunately. Otherwise, our boys’ room in particular might have gotten quite warm, as it was a rather odd maisonette room with a small downstairs room and a long hallway, bathroom, and sleeping area upstairs under the roof. The décor of both rooms was completely tasteless. It really was pretty bad, as in orange carpeting, red and green checkered sofa, blue chairs with gold legs and brown curtains. And no, they weren’t trying to be hip, all of it was rather old-fashioned and a bit worn. The hotel has a good-sized indoor pool and a very nice spa area with two saunas and a steam bath that we made extensive use of. The food was so-so. Breakfast wasn’t bad, but choices were rather limited and the coffee wasn’t good at all. One can order speciality coffee from the servers free of charge, but they didn’t offer this if I recall correctly. We had to ask. We had dinner twice at the hotel, once on our first night there and once as part of the family function. The first dinner wasn’t good at all. The soup was much too salty and the fish I ordered was bland. The desert wasn’t good, either. None of our party liked the food. It was much better on the second occasion, though. It still wasn’t the most delicious food we ever tasted, but we enjoyed it. The restaurant ran out of the wine my parents had chosen as dinner wine midway through the meal, though. The staff were friendly enough, but didn’t always seem very eager to accommodate the guests. They once closed the bar half an hour early, for example, even though we were still sitting in the beer garden outside, having drinks. The hotel’s location is good with hiking paths starting directly at the property, one of them an easy walk to one of the major sights in the area, the Externsteine. Several other sights are a short drive away."
Altstadt Hotel
"The facilities and cleanliness were both good, but it was a shame that the wifi was often disconnected :( However, I would like to visit again next time I come to Detmold :)"
Wertschätzer Hotel - Krumme STR
"Great and upgraded"
Friends Hotel Bad Salzuflen
"Very nervous itinerary, no time to go everywhere, the hotel itself is OK, free parking outside"
Hotel Lammerts
"I have been in this hotel several times. Super breakfast, unfortunately only from 07:00. Parking is often also connected with a longer footstep. At the hotel only a few places. Super sauna area. Also for family meetings super. I would like to spend a weekend with all the family there."

Gasthaus Rogge
"Nice room, superb location to explore in the neighbourhood"
Hotel Detmolder Hof
"This stay was fantastic and exceeded my expectations! The room was spotless and very comfortable, with a great layout and an amazingly cozy bed—I felt relaxed the moment I walked in. The staff were warm and professional, and everything from check-in to check-out was smooth and hassle-free. The property is quiet, well-maintained, and feels very welcoming throughout. I’d definitely stay here again and would happily recommend it to friends!"
The Resting Place
"Very nice hotel! We were here three nights and we have been very well sleeping and a delicious and extensive breakfast. The restaurant for dinner was also excellent. The first night was in a room with hard bed. The owner didn't find it a problem to switch to a room with a better bed for us."
Hotel Grüner Sand
Haus am Wasserfall
"It was only for one night in the hotel. Very nice host couple. Beautiful clean and a good breakfast. Rooms with balcony. New bathroom. Fen available.Top. Super price performance. The hotel is a little older, but otherwise really good. I can recommend further."
Landhaus Schieder
"I had booked a Candle Light dinner. I was really looking forward to a beautifully decorated table as it was described at Mydays. And it was nothing done. No roses leaves, no candles on the table. It was very disappointing. It was good. At last, there were problems with my bond, but it was not only with us, but also with two other couples."
Wertschätzer I - Karlstr
"Overall feeling general, not recommended"
Teutonia Hotel
"The hotel is very comfortable with the room having a separate area with 2 chairs and tv. The owners were very friendly and changed our room for one with 2 beds. The location is great for visiting the Exernsteine but the town itself has nothing to do. The Italian pizzeria restaurant at the end of the street is very good. Parking is very easy with street parking, a lot across the street and a few spots behind the hotel."
Hotel Zur Burg Sternberg
"We were 2 nights in the hotel and were on the way with the motorcycle overnight and we used the half-pension and the wellness area in the evening. Our first room was quite remote, the first look to the roof: fungus. In addition, no mirror in the bathroom. We asked for another room directly, but you couldn't do anything booked for the second night possible. The next morning the next surprise in the bathroom, there was water on the ground, probably out of the toilet. In the evening we were able to offer another room, a simple double room in the top floor, without air conditioning, without lift. As the hotel overall has come quite in the years, but otherwise clean and clean. The dinner was two times a buffet. The selection was large enough with pre-food and after-food. Unfortunately, the quality of the food is rather at the imbiss level. The breakfast was only OK, there was no more touching one hour before the end of the breakfast time and although this was seen, it was only made on request what. The sauna was very hot and we liked it very well, as well as the swimming pool. The wellness area with a rest zone is small and not very lovely designed, in the outer lighting you could at least cover the empty basin. The promised sauna towels on the site are only the normal larger showers, but not large enough to be called sauna towels. Although you can take several without problems, the description of the site is not correct. Unfortunately, we did not get upgrade or financial receipt through the hotel. Unfortunately this short leave was not to our satisfaction. The hotel had announced to sign up again, unfortunately this was not happened 2 weeks later"

"As at the first visit, the apartment was very clean and the equipment was very good, even a milk sparkling is available. The renters are very nice and a special highlight were food for a first extensive meal in the refrigerator"
