Hotel Portuense Lisboa

The night door man was rude. Told us another person couldn't come up to our room and charge her phone for an Uber. He called us numerous times and was ugly . The shower was disgusting. And the breakfast was awful, especially the coffee. But truly couldn't get over how rude the night man was to people on a vacation. It was as if you were a forty year old woman answering to your mom!!

Wonderful stay here! I had a single room, one of the smaller ones, but it was oriented in a way that left plenty of room for me and my luggage. Wasn't cramped at all. The hotel is very nice, with lovely hardwood floors. Breakfast is your standard continental fare but was very good. I used the laundry service-- I had about 4 days worth of clothes and the service was 15 euro. It is next day time turnaround but it worked fine for me. The staff is very friendly and efficient, they get to know you by sight and always greet you. Close to several metro and bus stops--very conveniently locatedMy one and only issue is that the plumbing is a little loud and maybe about 4 times the shower took a very long time to get hot water. But it always eventually came on. I'm sure the building is older and that comes with plumbing quirks. I would still recommend this hotel though, this is a nice little hotel and I very much enjoyed staying there.

Great location a block away from main avenue, safe, super clean. Good breakfast. Excellent attention from the owners. Everything from walking distance. Wud stay there again. Good size rooms. Do not expect luxury.

Excellent hotel. A warm welcome on arrival, the rooms are immaculately clean as is the whole hotel. The breakfast provides a really good choice with continental and cooked food. The location is literally a 1 minute walk to the restaurants and bars and shops, it's perfect. We had an excellent stay and would highly recommend this hotel.

Had a lovely 5 night stay here. It is basic but very clean and the staff are all really friendly and helpful. The included breakfast is simple but plenty and there was always room to sit. Also a vending machine to get cheaper drinks and snacks for the day ahead. Location is perfect for downtown and the metro station is close to. Could have used some more storage space in the room but apart from this I had everything I needed!

Family owned small hotel in good location. Wonderful hosts. Not everybody spoke English, but they always tried to be helpful. The hotel is basic, but very clean. The 3 bed room is very small, but we managed to use the space efficiently. Good breakfast with a small variety of hot and cold options, in a very small room. You can walk to many attractions and many restaurants. The few restaurants and souvenir shops not far down the street make area overcrowded many times. You can also hear the music from advertising at the nearby theatre till late night, but it didn't bother us much as the windows offer very good noise muffling. Anyway, very close proximity is really quiet, we were happy to not see crowds in front of the hotel entrance.

This family run hotel is in a good spot, a half block away from a pedestrian restaurant row. Some of them were tourist traps and others were quite good. It is just a block behind the easy-to-see Hard Rock Cafe. The owners are friendly without being too intrusive. The breakfast consists of eggs, cold ham, cheese, little sausages and a vegan dish (beans or quinoa), also fruit (oranges, nice little pears and bananas), There is a coin-op where you can buy water, drinks and snacks as well as a self-serve coffee machine. I felt safe and comfortable there.

We stayed at Hotel Portuense for 3 nights in June. We cannot speak too highly enough of the family who run this hotel, which is situated close to all amenities in Lisbon. The room was very clean, air conditioning, comfortable bed and really good breakfast each morning. The reception is manned 24 hours with very friendly and helpful staff and was very quiet at night. We were able to store our luggage after checking out. Would definitely like to return to this hotel at a future date.

The hotel is located in a great spot- plenty of things you can walk to, or the subway is a great way to get around the city. I chose a single room, accommodations were basic but clean and exactly as I expected. The bathroom looks like it might be handicapped accessible, which is wonderful, but the shower did leak a little onto the floor as a result. Certainly not the end of the world. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel recommended I use a service called Welcome Pickup to get from the airport to the hotel- it was fantastic, reasonably priced and very friendly driver. I’m not particularly sensitive to noise, but considering the central location I didn’t feel it was noisy at all. I was exhausted enough at the end of the day to sleep through just about anything! Overall this was perfect for me, great location and I absolutely feel like it was money well spent.
