Hotel Alif Avenidas

Decent hotel, nothing spectacular, but very clean, which is important! However, scales to weigh your luggage should be easily available at a 4*hotel without the 1€ rip off fee. Also there seems to be a problem with the cards as I had to get it reactivated twice during a two day stay. Overall recommendable, if you’re looking for a clean standard room.

The staff at the reception were very friendly and helped me with everything I needed + Room very well presented and super clean. I super recommend.

We stayed here for 3 nights and found the hotel room perfectly fine for our needs. Comfy beds, decent sized bathroom with very nice shower, air con if needed, low level street noise. The staff were all very lovely and helpful and allowed us to store our luggage all day as we had a late flight home. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel but it was €8.50 per person which was not too bad price compared to other places. The area has many restaurants, cafes etc all within walking distance of 10 minutes we found a lovely Italian 5 minutes away and great pizza place. There is a small supermarket across the road and a Lidl 7 minutes walk away. The metro and bus stop nearby and it was approx 20 minutes to get into Lisbon from here. We would very much stay here again and highly recommend the hotel - thank you for a pleasant stay

If you are from the states, this hotel is 2 out of 5 stars. It is NOT a 4 star hotel by any means. The rooms are very small and unattractive. The advertised conference center was a single computer that I never seen used. The bar has 3 chairs and was not open my entire 4 day stay. There was not a single person in the lounging area. There is no room service. The morning buffet was additional and adequate for ne however I noted multiple people choosing to eat elsewhere after visiting. I did not request early chrck in but did arrive early. I was told the room was ready early so i could go up. Later, i was informed i could have been charged additional but they would waive it. I had no problem checking in the appropriate time. I never requested to check in early. My room was close to the staff lounge. I feel their lounge should not be so close to rooms due to noise. I found it odd that not a single picture hung on a wall. It is an unappealing hotel. Recognize that most attractions you will want to visit in Lisbon are approximately 20 to 25 minutes away although transportation is easy and very affordable. I can say the front desk was helpful with the couple requests I had. I was a bit shocked that while most people speak English, I was given a driver that spoke no English when I requested a cab from the front desk. The staff were nice but I would not stat here again or recommend to others. As I stated, this hotel would definitely be rated 2 stars in the states.

A very pleasant stay, and excellent value for money. The hotel is well located, in a quiet area with many shops and restaurants close by and good transport links to all parts of the city and beyond. All the staff went out of their way to be very welcoming and helpful. The room was of a good size, comfortable, with a good shower and always kept very clean. There was a good quality breakfast buffet with lots of options.

A TOTAL disaster! Room was small and DIRTY! First room we were put in was dirty and the TV didn't work. Maintenance came and COULDN'T GET THE TV TO WORK! Moved to another room that AGAIN did not have a working TV. Also, it was miserably dirty with big hunks of dirt and what looked like dog food all over the room. On top of this the refrigerator was left open and the melted ice flooded the room! No manager around to talk to. NEVER USE THIS HOTEL!

The hotel was in a good location, outside the main tourist areas but had a metro station a minutes walk away which was very easy to use and literally took 10 mins or less to get to Alfama/Baixa-Chiado regions and easy access to all other areas in Lisbon. Quiet street with shops close by. The rooms were very clean and spacious, very good water pressure, shower was great. Staff accommodating and friendly. We only had breakfast in hotel once, there are many nice cafes nearby where we would get our breakfast from which worked out cheaper though did take up a little more time than if we had breakfast at hotel! I would definitely recommend this hotel for all the reasons given above and if you want somewhere that is quieter than being in the thick of things but has easy access to all areas.
