Tbh I have stayed here loads of times and from the first time to the present I have never had a problem. The staff have always been friendly and helpful. In fact the current bar manager (Holly) is a fantastic young lass. I now class Ryan and Trina as friends. They do help me with my food allergies too and which I may add is always quality. To me the place actually feels like home from home. The rooms are spacious and snug. If I actually had something to comment on is that I think the rooms are spacious I usually have could do with an arm chair. Other than that. Excellent

We stayed at this 12th century Inn for a week to explore the area. We slept well, the room & bathroom was clean & comfortable & the breakfast was fine. (The provision of small teapots would have been useful) Our only complaint was that we never met the owner, or anyone in charge. The lady who served breakfast was pleasant & friendly but apart from that our stay was very impersonal.

Our gang usual December get together, previous years we had Christmas crackers on table , only cheapies but adds to atmosphere of season, usually big fire in lower part of restaurant, not today , dull, dismal, dark, and cold. Food ordered ,disappointing on arrival , bacon and cheese jacket potato, well potato just about done , no portion of butter , 1 slice of bacon ( the highlight of meal) minimum sprinkle of grated cheese, bit of boring salad with half slice tomato, and same again cucumber whisps of onion, rest was Doritos thingys. exciting, glass of lemonade with lime , must have had one drop of lime in it. Now come to payment with cash wrong change given on two occasions, very disappointing , and the place was quiet usually several groups of people there, wonder why.

It was my mum and dad's 60th Wedding anniversary and we chose The Weary Friar because it had a really good varied menu. None of us, and there were 10 of us, had been there before, well, we couldn't have picked a better place!!! From ringing them and speaking with Amanda to book the table, to having our celebration there, it was nothing but absolute first class. EVERYONE was polite, friendly, thoughtful and kind and the food was fabulous too. The pub is a proper country pub, warm and welcoming, clean and quirky. Absolutely perfect in every way!!! Thank you so very very much to Amanda and all the very lovely team!!!!!xxxx

A country hotel, this is set in a quiet village. It’s a old building, with a lot of old features and charm. Check in was easy and rooms are large enough. Bathrooms are clean and tidy. Purchased evening meal and food was good, freshly cooked too. Bar staff are attentive as well. Breakfast was cooked to order and was fresh. I would use hotel again as in good location.

Came here for an early evening meal, its a 12th century olde worldy pub full of character.Polite staff took our drinks order and we sat down and ordered our food.My wife ordered hunters chicken and i ordered the chicken and cauliflower curry. After what seemed a longish wait our food arrived,WHAT a dissapointment both meals were. The chicken in both dishes was chewy and overcooked we never finished our meals we never complained but definately wont be searching out this inn again.

Hotel was very nice, comfortable, disappointed with bathrooms the bath panel was split and taped up with duck tape, very disappointed the bed never had no valance on it. Bar menu not goid as asked for a curry on 3 nights and each time it was not available .staff very helpful could not fault them. The service was very slow .

Stayed her for 4 nights in a superior room #2. The room was large and well appointed, but the double bed was dreadful. It was only 4 foot or 4 ft 6 ins wide, very, very soft and I would say old. Just not enough room for two adults - certainly not 'Superior'! The thermostatic bath/shower mixer was so weak a watering can would be an improvement. After 2 days we were moved to room #1. Same apalling narrow bed, but a powerful non-thermostatic bath/shower mixer, but the temp. went from O.K. to cold or red hot according to other guests turning taps on and off. The food was good and the staff were attentive and helpful. Why don't owners and managers just spend a night in their rooms? They would instantly see these basic, obvious problems!!!
