We stayed for one night in the Barn, The hotel and restaurant was very well maintained and had a lovely county pub feel as you would expect for the location we especially like the log fire next to the bar. The Barn conversion we stayed in was also well maintained, clean and spacious. We found all staff members to be pleasant and helpful we found the food to be well presented and of high standard.

Place was very cold as the fire wasn’t working, as they were aware of this they could have provided heaters. Food looked and tasted good however portions were small and over priced. There are much better pubs in Derbyshire offering better quality food.

We took some friends there and the food was superb as were the surroundings. We decided to have a pudding and although it tasted lovely the portion size was disappointing! We had been there previously but had not tried the puddings!! I would recommend going there though.

My husband and I came here for lunch while on a countryside bike ride- can’t recommend enough!! The food was outstanding and the service was impeccable. Really unique lunch experience. 10/10 must visit! We ate the pea soup, buttermilk mushrooms, cod broth, lamb croquette, and chips. Everything was delicious!

Great place to stay - just back from a 2 night stay We stayed in Mangalica. Very spacious with love views of the Derbyshire Dales. The staff were really friendly (sorry I didn’t get their names - but they were very helpful and friendly (especially the girl who is going to see Selecter at Peak Cavern). We ate there on both nights and the food was really well cooked & presented. Loads of places near bro visit. And some stunning countryside. Would recommend a visit to any of the nearby caverns. We went to Speedwell Cavern , which was really good. Would recommend The Blind Bull to visitors to stay at, although there are loads of other really nice places nearby to stay at as well, if you prefer not to be in the middle of nowhere.

We decided to book to visit The Blind Bull today as it was near to the walk we had planned. As vegetarians we always check menus before we eat anywhere and decided to give them a try. What can I say?! We were welcomed when we walked through the door and we had the choice of sitting with a drink or being shown to our table as we were early. We decided on the latter. The atmosphere is friendly and fuss free and I liked the fact that the table wasn’t filled with glasses and condiments(you really don’t need them). It’s the food that is the highlight here. After looking through the menu hubby decided on the Gnudi which he thoroughly enjoyed and said was delicious and I had two smaller dishes, Mushrooms/Curried Mayonaisse and Buratta/Beetroot which had my tastebuds dancing. Believe me somebody knows how to put ingredients together to produce amazing flavours. The puddings were equally as delicious and the plates were again empty. Simply delicious food at a very reasonable price. We will definitely be making The Blind Bull a regular place to eat. Booking is recommended.
