While we understood when we booked this hotel that it was a old place, (which was intriguing) we didn't expect to have to wait at least 20 minutes for someone to show up to check us in. There was literally no one on site that we could find and i called the hotel twice with no answer. There was simply a sign that said, be right back. 20 minutes wasn't, be right back. There was at least 4 couples waiting to check in. As far as the room, it had a lot of charm and character, but was freezing. There were radiators in the room, but they clearly don't keep up because the room had small radiant heaters on rollers. Once we turned them on, it was fine, just took a while to heat up. Place was clean except there was a wet washcloth left hanging on the shower head in the bathroom , which is gross. I tried to take a hot shower in the morning, but the best I could get was luke warm which was disappointing. The front desk girl did her job like a robot (when she did finally show up) not very personable. When we left however, the 2 ladies at the desk were very friendly and nice. The pros for us was a super comfy bed and lots of great pillows, the location to great breweries and restaurants, shops, etc. The property itself is beautiful with lots of history. The cons I've pretty much listed. Would I stay here again? Maybe if i knew I would have hot water for my shower.
