"2nd visit to the hostel but first time taking the tent. The grass area is massive and my little one loved the fact there are lots of sheep and lambs roaming freely. Another fantastic stay. The staff here are friendly and helpful and we loved spending time in the grand lounge. We will be returning again. Would definitely recommend this place for camping."

We checked in the previous night and enjoyed a delicious dinner in the hotel lobby; the steak was especially recommended! 👍🏻 The hotel rooms were standard, parking was free, and it's only a 12-minute drive to the estate, which is very convenient. Overall, it was a good hotel."

"I needed a room for one night, and the location and price here was perfect. I was able to get a private room with ensuite which was great. I'd encourage solo travellers who usually choose hotels to consider this option - I had plug sockets next to my bed which was very thoughtful, and plenty of places to hang stuff up. The staff couldn't be more helpful and parking was easy. Details that were not so great were the window in my room, which didn't completely close, which feels like a security concern when you're on the ground floor. The bathroom light is also on a motion sensor, which makes sense from an environmental point of view but means you can't turn it off and just have to wait."

"Honestly, all the hotels in this small town are close to the attractions, but Crescent really is in the heart of it. The breakfast is good; try to go early to beat the crowd, definitely don't miss it. I found two blonde hairs in the room, but overall, the cleanliness was acceptable. I accidentally pulled the emergency alarm in the bathroom, but no one came to assist for over 8 minutes. I had to go to the front desk myself to ask a staff member to turn it off. If you're traveling with elderly people, please keep this in mind. Also, I highly recommend paying extra to use the spa facilities; otherwise, staying at this hotel wouldn't make much sense, as guests don't have access to the pool. Unfortunately, the Roman-style baths in the basement were under maintenance when I visited, and the indoor baths on the second floor were too stuffy, while the outdoor baths were so windy it gave me a headache."

"We had a truly delightful foodie evening in the beautifully maintained garden at the Maynard on Friday. The food was absolutely wonderful and the staff were very helpful and friendly. A special thank you to Bethan, who let us taste two of the wines when we couldn’t decide which one to get, which was greatly appreciated. The beef carpaccio was the star of the show in my opinion, beautiful flavours and attention to detail - what appeared to be crispy capers were a very welcome surprise in the dish. The ravioli was rich and creamy and punchy in flavour, very comforting and the portion size was just right. My partner had the cauliflower pakoras with the creamy pea purée which were gorgeous, followed by the Dahl which tasted as though it had been simmered in fresh vegetable broth. All of this was paired with a bottle of the Wild House rosé which was a delight to drink in the summer sun at golden hour. We will definitely be back as soon as we can."
