Malacuna Liverpool

My stay at Malacuna was really pleasant. I felt welcomed as a solo traveller and everyone I came across was so friendly. That’s guests and staff. Coy and peaceful night’s sleep had too. I will be returning next time. Thank you Malacuna.

Perfect location. Walking distance to main locations and city centre. We had a private room with bathroom, so can’t really say how was it in share rooms. We had big windows in our room but not really nice view. However, we didn’t went there to look outsid the window. Very clean place overall, looks like newly refurbished. Very friendly and helpful staff. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend.

Booked for 2 nights, first night was awful. Bed was very uncomfortable, the building makes so much noise, guests were loud and making noise, the fire safety light lit up the whole room like a normal light making it almost impossible to sleep, had NO HOT WATER despite raising the issue with the staff, my room key stopped working after 1 day so had to get it fixed, ramped up the prices for Valentine’s Day but honestly the state of this place is not worth more than about £20 a night. Also I booked a standard room got given an accessible room. There was barely any soap/shampoo/body wash provided and the bathroom window would not close which made using it extremely cold. The room had a strange aroma. The toilet flush barely worked too you had to be very forceful with it. I’d argue it wasn’t as advertised.  It is extremely close to the train station and staff were friendly but considering how much I paid for 2 nights I was extremely disappointed and unsatisfied with my stay.

The place itself is okay but from the outside it looks like it's a closed down building, which I originally thought it was. The staff there were helpful with questions but I paid for an additional hours stay which I didn't use but couldn't get refunded for. You don't get a choice of beds, the bunk beds are just extremely hard to get on to(in terms of the top bunk) the curtain is stiff and the ladder is in an awkward place and small which led to me trying not to fall while getting on the bed. This isn't the accomodations fault but my stay was hindered by a lack of sleep due to disturbance from others in the room. The facility itself is nice but can be confusing because the door numbers are above the doors not on them. You're not assigned a bed but you just get what you get. It's alright for a cheap stay but I wouldn't recommend more than a night.
