Ashcroft Farmhouse

I stayed at Ashcroft Farm house for two nights to have two days exploring the city of Edinburgh and its attractions in October 23. This place is so special and unique, a real gem. As the other reviews say Elizabeth is an excellent host, so warm, friendly and welcoming to her guests. A level of quality and care that simple doesn't exist to the same extent today. The room was very clean, tidy and comfortable and the breakfast was absolutely superb, such great quality and plenty of choice. A real treat that set me up for each day!. The location was great as only 5 miles or so from the park and ride which gave me easy access to the city which was convenient but avoided the hassle of city centre hotel locations e.g. parking, noise etc. If you want to be right in the middle of the city, in a modern, standard, chain hotel this would not be for you, but if you want somewhere homely, cosy, friendly with an excellent home cooked breakfast, I would highly recommend Ashcroft Farmhouse. Turned up at the guesthouse and was welcomed by Elizabeth the owner, shown to our room which was clean warm cozy and comfortable, everything there you could want. The breakfasts were outstanding, multiple choices, good portions, set you up for the day. This guesthouse is in a prime location for attractions. Will be visiting and booking again in the near future

Please don't take the title as an insult this is meant as a compliment. We stayed for 1 night as we had a wedding close by, and this BnB covered all bases and more. There's a reason this place has so many awards and that's down to Elizabeth, she runs a tight ship and makes a fantastic breakfast. The reason I put that title is because it genuinely felt like that - the rooms were a nice size and were decorated like how my gran would do it, which was very homely. Elizabeth is actually interested in her guests and treats you like family, we had a great time chatting over breakfast with the other guests and the host. I have seen a few negative reviews about her conduct and to be honest if you don't like this style of a cosy, warm and friendly atmosphere you need to give your head a wobble and stay in a vastly more expensive soulless chain hotel . if I'm ever in this neck of the woods again I would stay here in a heart beat. The price (£60pp Inc. Breakfast) for what you got and the service provided was 5 star, well done Elizabeth , best cougar in the village.

My partner and I stayed overnight at this B&B whilst we attended our friends wedding in Edinburgh. As we were traveling through from Glasgow, Elizabeth (owner) allowed us to check in early which was very helpful. Plenty of parking available which was great. Our room was so cosy, warm and had everything we needed: tea/coffee making facilities and supplies, fresh towels, shower gels/creams and free WiFi in room. We both had a full cooked breakfast the next morning which was so delicious - and I really loved the tea. We chatted with Elizabeth (and her son) during our short stay and found them to be so lovely - in particular we had some right laughs with Elizabeth. Upon reading the very few negative reviews I have to say, if you don't enjoy friendly (and funny) banter then Scotland ain't for you. If we are ever through in Edinburgh again we would 100% stay here. Thanks so much Elizabeth!

My husbond and I have stayed for 3 nights, and we loved the place. Elizabeth is an excellent host who cares for the guests.. We had a really nice room and the breakfast is of a very high standard. We highly recommend the place and would love to stay there again.

From Arrival to Leaving we were greeted with High and Valued Welcome. There is nothing Elizabeth the Proprietor won’t do to accommodate guests. The Farmhouse is run to extremely high standards and Breakfast is of a Standard you expect of Grand Establishment. Elizabeth has high standards and expectations where your stay reflects this. Rooms are immaculate, we’ll kept, soft good quality bedding and complimentary toiletries, tea, coffee. A pleasure and rare treat. Can’t recommend highly enough
