I booked this hotel expecting a premium experience, but it completely failed to live up to its 5-star rating. To start with, basic luxury amenities were completely missing—there were no bathrobes provided, and the welcome bottle of wine we were supposed to receive was nowhere to be found. The room itself was in a shocking state. The walls were noticeably dirty and literally had holes in them. Furthermore, the room was uncomfortably hot, making it very difficult to sleep or relax. The bathroom was just as bad, with visible mold in the shower, which is absolutely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone a supposedly high-end one. To make matters worse, the Wi-Fi was barely functional, dropping constantly and making it impossible to get anything done online. The only saving grace was the breakfast, which was decent and offered a reasonable selection. However, an okay breakfast is not nearly enough to make up for the terrible room conditions and lack of basic hygiene. I will definitely never stay here again and strongly advise others to look elsewhere. This is a 2- or 3-star hotel at best.

GH Palazzo in Livorno is old, run-down, and smells of toilets on the first floor. Staff never apologized. My Negroni on the rooftop came with melted ice, and the porter spoke neither Italian nor English — ironic in Tuscany, birthplace of Dante’s neutral Italian. Reception had no idea about availability when I tried to extend my stay. I was woken at 7 AM by an unwanted call for a group, with no apology. Writing this at 7 AM. I give 2 stars only because it’s cheap for a “5-star” hotel. Truly deserves 2 if it were rated honestly.

The hotel was nice and Tidy as you'd expect from a five star hotel. Breakfast was great and staff helpful. What I found strange was that you had to pay to use the spa (use of sauna etc.) With hefty price tag of €70 PP on Friday. My mattress was knackered springs broken and one side virtually collapsed. The bathroom door was taty with bits peeling off. Admittedly, I couldn't be bothered to complain and get my room changed after unpacking our stuff and noticing the state of mattress late at night. And parking was €18 per night, which I didn't notice of any mention of their website or Trip.com. They charged me for 2 instead 3 when I mentioned the mattress before checking out. To be honest there has to be some level checking the condition of the beds by the supervisor. The pool on the roof was very small, not worth bothering with except if want to sit beside it for suntanning. I didn'tnotice any offer of drinks or food at the pool. I gave service a four star only because we asked for couple of things to the room which didn't happen.

First of all, I'd like to thank the hotel staff and Mr. Lorenzo at reception for their quick response to my email and for arranging the room upgrade for my wife's birthday. The hotel is located right on the beach, and you can park your car in the garden for 18 euros per day. The outside area also seemed secure for parking. The hotel is old, but the rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The breakfast and the staff were very good, thank you.

The hotel's view was quite nice, but the overall experience was extremely poor. I booked two rooms for four nights. On the night of the 18th, the room suddenly lost power for three hours. The water in the bathtub was yellow, as you can see. My room key card expired three times in just two days. When I contacted the front desk, they only reactivated the card, failing to address the root cause of the problem. A room cleaning sign hung outside all day, but no one cleaned the room. Is this the kind of service a five-star hotel provides? I am extremely disappointed with the hotel; all my previous positive impressions have vanished.

I recently stayed at the hotel with my daughter. The rooms were spacious and clean. The staff was extremely friendly, no exceptions, especially in the breakfast room and restaurant, where we found them efficient and friendly. We'll be back.

The room had windows half-walled by external friezes that blocked the view and ventilation. Regarding this last point, the air-to-light ratio required by law and the municipal building hygiene regulations was not respected, meaning the room was unfit for habitation. The sheet was lint-free and had holes in two places. In the bathroom, the shower wouldn't hold water and would flood. While eating breakfast, we noticed a hair in the roast turkey steak and sent it back, interrupting breakfast in disgust. Management unavailable, terrible welcome!

A wonderful end to the year in a beautiful facility. I felt like a star.
