The hotel in itself was good, everywhere was clean and tidy, friendly staff. We had a large room, plenty of space, warm plus an electric heater, housekeeping was 1st class but my only moan on the room was we paid a good amount extra for a sea view which we could hardly see as the windows were filthy, we saw the window cleaner one afternoon so thought great we will have the sea view now, no such luck, only the ground floor windows got cleaned. Now the restaurant, it was large and held a lot of people at each sitting but tables and chairs were well set out so nobody was short of space. The meals were disappointing especially Christmas lunch and dinner, lunch a bit on the small side and dinner (usually buffet) was choice of meat platter, seafood platter or quiche with salad, should have stated side salad it was so small, also had chicken salad on our arrival day which was also very small. Other than that we did enjoy our holiday but I don't feel that I would return

Just returned from a turkey/ tinsel type break at the Hydro. The hotel was lovely and warm, spotlessly clean and the refurbishments were lovely to see. The team here are truly committed , reception, bar, cleaning team and the service in the restaurant is outstanding, food always hot and a great choice, nothing seemed too much trouble. A highly visible management team who have set and maintained a brilliant standard and went the extra mile to provide a truly atmospheric break. Well done to all the team at the hydro, from someone slightly younger than the average customer, I thought it was an excellent package and will return again and my Mother in law loved it Thanks again and Merry Christmas

Don't let the 2 Star rating fool you. The Hydro is so much better than that. In an ideal seafront location away from the noise of the pier the hotel offers a warm welcome. The housekeeping is first class with spotless rooms. The dining experience is amazing, clever chefs and great waiting staff. Clesio you were brilliant. Our stay with Brent Thomas coaches was such a welcome break after the long grey Winter. If this is the standard of Leisureplex hotels we will certainly be looking at staying with in another of your hotels. You are so fortunate to have such hard working staff in all departments.

Got back yesterday from a 4 night Alfa break. The hotel was great, clean, warm and our room was comfortable. The food was good, especially the breakfasts. All the staff were brilliant especially Carly and Monika on the bars. The entertainment was o.k. and we even managed a win on the bingo. I would recommend a trip to this hotel.

A warm welcome awaits from an international mix of staff everyone was so obliging . Rooms were spotless with very comfortable beds and pristine bedding. Food was of good quality and selection was very good. Entertainment every evening and bingo if you wished. Hotel is in an excellent stop on the flat overlooking the bay. Shops are nearby and on the level ideal for the less mobile guests.

Went on an Alfa coach trip for 4 nights. Only classed as a 2 star, but presumably only for lack of certain amenities, as it was excellent and great value.. Had a single room at the back, quite small but perfectly adequate, quiet and very clean and warm - almost too warm as needed the window open even though the weather outside was freezing and the heater wasn't on. Great bathroom and shower - looked recently refurbished. Food was wonderful. Not cordon bleu, but tasty, plentiful and well presented. Lots of choices for breakfast, including a full English. Dinner had around 6 choices for each of starter, main and dessert, including good old favourites like apple crumble and jam roly poly. Lots of options for vegetarians. All the staff were friendly and helpful, with a special mention for Maiai (hope that's spelt right) our waitress who was superb - friendly, helpful and efficient. The hotel is right on the seafront, with a lounge area and the bar overlooking the beach. Entertainment was good and there's bingo if you like it - we retreated to the bar, which was very reasonably priced. I would re-do this trip just to stay in the hotel.

Best holiday we could have wished for, Terrific room, GREAT food and a wonderful server named Ewa (I apologise for my spelling if I have spelt that wrong!) We will definitely return next year. I can't emphasize just how great the staff have been at all levels. The turkey and tinsel was a great day. Thank you so much for a wonderful holiday. Cheers Mr Neil King (Room 104)
