"A wonderful boutique hotel in a beautiful historic town. A major booking site rates it as #2 although on the day it scored higher than the one in top spot. The roads are narrow so if you come by car, park in the nearby free carpark and obtain the key code in advance. I recommend contacting the hotel direct to ensure the the best room for your needs. We had one of the suites (room 1) with a patio in the peaceful garden. There is another suite on the first floor with a large private balcony. Do your research because some of the rooms in all of the hotels will experience a little road noise. Our room was incredibly spacious and very peaceful. Air conditioning was quiet and effective. The twin beds are very comfortable and when placed together form a super, super king! This is a hands off hotel but someone is always available by phone. If you are high maintenance, it may not be for you. There is an honour bar and large fridge (very reasonable prices) plus tea and coffee machine. I found this better than a fridge in the room because they can be noisy. The staff are so caring and helpful. The continental breakfast is very extensive plus you only have to ask for a cooked breakfast if required. We've had the most enjoyable stay. Thank you."

"This is a very well positioned rural hotel, with beautiful large rooms, which are modern (but in-keeping) and well looked after. The rooms and location are without doubt a key highlight. Staff are friendly. The hotel falls short in a couple of areas … the pace of service is very slow at breakfast, with long waits for dishes ordered from the menu, which invariably turned up cool / not very fresh. Lunchtime service was particularly bad - over an hour to wait for food. The kitchen appears under significant pressure and it got annoying by the end of the stay. That said, the dinner service was worlds apart - much slicker. In the hotels defence, they took the restaurant feedback seriously at the time and were clearly uncomfortable at the service being by offered. While small, a couple of things which were just a little bit annoying and took away from what could be great: 1. No fresh towels by the pool - expected to use room terrace towels 2. Air conditioning broken in the gym, plus this space was really tired - signs of water damage from the pool “above” and the equipment pretty old and knackered 3. No body wash / shampoo for the bath (provided options are “locked” in the shower) 4. There’s no nice bar area for drinks, and the area they do have just has no atmosphere - just a random collection of tables. With a focus on the restaurant service and a few other bits this place could easily be 5/5."

"Paqui , the woman at reception when we first arrived (and who provided the most wonderful nightly € rate), could not have provided a better reason to switch from the noisy and expensive Prinsotel where we had been staying. When I could not figure out the air-conditioning, she came upstairs and had it working in a minute. Prior tenant had left the safe locked, and she gave us the code so that we were able to leave the room and our valuables and wander all afternoon. Sleeping was comfortable and quiet. The shower worked hot and strong. The Internet was very capable .Breakfast in the morning was terrific and unexpectedly ample. I honestly wish that we had spent all three nights at Gami. The neighborhood is pleasant with many offerings of inexpensive restaurants nearby. Joonas, in attendance at the desk the next morning who offered a place for us to store our luggage prior to leaving was also exceedingly helpful. Hostel Gami will be our go-to hotel should we ever return to CalaRajada. Paqui, la recepcionista que nos atendió a nuestra llegada (y que nos ofreció una tarifa nocturna en euros fantástica), nos convenció por completo para cambiar del ruidoso y caro Prinsotel donde nos habíamos alojado. Cuando no conseguía encender el aire acondicionado, subió y lo arregló en un minuto. El inquilino anterior había dejado la caja fuerte cerrada, y nos dio el código para que pudiéramos salir de la habitación con nuestras pertenencias y pasear tranquilamente toda la tarde. Dormimos cómodamente y en silencio. La ducha tenía agua caliente y buena presión. El desayuno fue estupendo y sorprendentemente abundante. Sinceramente, me hubiera gustado pasar las tres noches en Gami. El barrio es agradable y cuenta con muchos restaurantes económicos cerca. El señor que nos ofreció guardar el equipaje antes de irnos fue muy amable. Si volvemos a Cala Rajada, sin duda nos alojaremos en el Hostel Gami."

"Can Simoneta is truly a one-of-a-kind experience. As an avid traveler I have stayed all kinds of hotels, but I have never experienced such a gorgeously maintained, peaceful, relaxing and simply elegant property. "Stayed here for 10 days all inclusive & honestly couldn't fault it. Food was great room was great. A/C unexpected which was fab. Perfect location. Lots of people have mentioned about the euro 4 plastic cups but is only during the day which I totally get so people take cups back to bar when want another drink & also so no glass around the pool. Has 2 pools which are lovely & right on beach so whet more can you want?? We already looking at going again next yr. We got holiday 4 great price with love holidays & was really surprised at how lovely it was. Highly recommended 👍👍"

" Hotel very good location. It stands at the beach, near the shops, restaurants etc. Staff are kind, but 90-95 % don't talk english. Receptionist as well. (expext 2) Food is tasty, but after 3-4 days, that is very boring. They cook very similair every day. Small hotel, small options. The room is all right. Pillow is really hard. There is a big balcony. Good things. We could pay by room card everywhere in the hotel. I think the hotel is perfect for a short time staying "

"This review is based on two premises: vs price paid for the service and vs similar package in 5 star hotel in Croatia. Also to note we have booked serenity suite service half board. Location: the hotel is on the second row from the sea, meaning it is not at the beach directly. 5 min to the beach, no problem if you don't carry a lot of items for the family. Staff excetionally friendly, chief of the reception offered us breakfast at our early arrival which was a very friendy gesture (we got up at 3 in the morning and arrived at 9 to the hotel). However some of the staff at the breakfast and dinner very young and not trained to the level expected at 5 star hotel (e.g. very poor english, also communication under expectation). Suite was clean and cleaned 2 X per day. Serenity service comes with fully stocked fridge, free of charge. Atmosphere ok, serenity service gives you access to the Serenity lounge which is really quiet and stocked with coffee, non-alcholic beverages snacks, fruits... really nice touch. Part of the package was also dedicated pool area with reserved sun umbrella and sun loungers. No need to wake up early and reserve ... :) We were also able to reserve our table for breakfast and dinner so no worry there. All this comes with a hefty price so regardless I would expect that for the evening shows we would also be able to reserve a table. Food choices were ok (here is where I compare with the similar packages) but the quality of the food was not a 5 star level. It can't really compare with the food in Croatia where it was a Michelin star level meals with the similar price for the package. Beach bar food was excellent but that was at additional cost (which means they know how to prepare the food if they want to). There are chickens in the beach bar which feel at home. Not sure if they belong there... :) We didn't mind as we love animals. Overall, we had a relaxing vacation. If they improve on some of the points it could trully stand out as a place to return to."

Large and spacious bathroom. Breakfast very good with freshly cooked eggs, bacon, veggies, yogurts. Two outdoor pools and one for kids. No parking, only available on the street which is usually packed."

"I can’t praise this hotel highly enough. The building is stunning. It’s a converted convent school with thick walls and fabulous ceilings. The staff are lovely - friendly without being obtrusive and always greeting you with a smile. The two pools (outdoor and indoor) are great, and I had one of the best massages of my life here (and I’m a massage junkie). We didn’t eat dinner here in our 6 nights but had breakfast each day which was fantastic. There are a number of good local restaurants to walk to about 100m away, and it’s only 30 mins along a safe road to walk into the seaside town with loads of great restaurants. The bed was huge and very comfortable - we slept very well. Quite a few mosquitoes still in October though so bring repellent…."

"One of the best hotels I have stayed in. Beautiful location, 1 minute walk from the beach. All amenities you need in the rooms. Room was thoroughly cleaned every day and fresh beach towels provided on request. Lovely selection of food at breakfast each day ... the pancakes made on request were great!! All staff we came across were very helpful and friendly. Pool and bar area were lovely. Would love to come back to this hotel. Cannot recommend enough."

"First of all, I will say that I am not a person who deliberately looks for negative features of a hotel, I rather focus on the positives and good time with my loved ones. Unfortunately, this hotel disappointed us in many respects. At the very beginning, there was a huge problem with accommodation, we had to wait 4 hours after arrival for a room (I understand, this is the hotel's policy), but we couldn't even use the shower by the pool or drink coffee from the buffet. Other disadvantages are: Further disadvantages are: -absolute lack of WiFi in the rooms or corridor - too few sun loungers by the pool -the entire chill zone is charged extra, not only the Basque beds mentioned in the description (we were literally kicked out of this zone :)) -drinks were mostly made from an automatic machine and were of really poor quality - basically no one from the staff speaks English, it is difficult to communicate because everyone speaks Spanish or sometimes German - as for the room, water is pouring from the shower and during our stay the air conditioning broke down twice for several hours - the worst meal was definitely the dinners/lunches - small selection and poor quality food, dinners were ok -the hotel staff were clearly focused on German tourists, they were served immediately, there was a visible difference in the treatment of other nationalities -microscopic swimming pool -the entire hotel has a lot of imperfections, it shows years of use, and the renovation has not changed much -the bar closes just before 11 p.m., the music is turned off and there is no option to order a drink a few minutes later On the plus side: +silence in the hotel +selection of dishes for dinner (including vegetarian options)"
