Not a 4 star hotel The staff was very unhelpful. This was not a 4 star hotel, at best a 2 star. Weird smells in the lobby and our room of the “new” building that are room was located. We so did not enjoy our stay that we didn’t bother staying for our prepaid second night and moved over to another hotel that was significantly better and had nicer staff. I do not recommend this hotel.

The hotel location is perfect. Quiet street and walking distance to Calle del Laurel which is the most famous tapas street in the city! The staff was very friendly as well. The hotel is gorgeous. Is like a castle with spectacular wood beams and elaborated ceilings!

Parking - car broken in and burgles We only looked at hotels with parking. We got the reply from the hotel to say there was secure parking nearby When we arrived, I parked nearby in the only spot available. The reception person told me not to park there and that I should immediately move to near the hotel, where she showed me on a map. A few minutes later a police officer showed up , telling me to move. The above wasn't the problem. the reception person showed us the public free car parks on a map, 5 mins walk away. She said they were secure and safe. On the 2nd day, the car had been broken into, cases had been opened and a few things stolen. It was very disturbing.
