We altered our plans to come to visit Burg Stauffenberg on our way from Berlin to Paris. What we found surprised & delighted us. Our suite was huge, with canopy king bed, fridge, and vast view of the valley below. Caution: there is no elevator. The room rate includes both 3 course dinner, served elegantly under long candles (very romantic!) and breakfast. Dinner was superb; soup, main, and desert. Rain prevented a long walk in the woods, but you can hike up to the ruins of the upper castle ca. 1100's. The castle hotel dates from the 1500's. Overall, we give it 5 stars; worth a detour to stay & to dine!

If you like the option of staying in a real medieval castle then this is the place for you. On arriving in the car park you immediately climb a stone spiral staircase to reception! What a welcome. This hotel has been superbly restored and decorated. I have nothing but praise for everything in this hotel: the rooms are comfortable and everything you need is there. Great views across the valley from some rooms. The hotel has an excellent restaurant in the 'dungeons' - not the cheapest meal, expect to pay about €48 for a 3-couse meal but the quality is high, the location is perfect and the service is perfect. Breakfast is also provided and this is also good; pleased to see that some things change if you are staying longer than one night. The village of Staufenberg is pleasant to walk around but there is not too much to see apart from the Upper Castle ruins above the hotel - great to wander around and climb the tower. car parking is extensive and free.

The hotel is it self rather beautiful; the setting is in a historic castle set a top a small mountain and the views are stunning. Like most German hotels there is no air conditioning however the beds are lovely and the showers are Sublime. However the heart and soul of any operation is the people and without any question I can say that one of the finest individuals that I’ve ever met working in the hospitality industry works at this hotel. Johannes Vitt is a waiter in the restaurant and his English is perfect as well as his manner and approachability. I was able to enjoy my meal so much more because of his congeniality and his thorough knowledge of the food being served.

Kleines dunkles Zimmer im Besenkammernstyle mit unzumutbarem modrigen Geruch. Zum Glück war es nur eine Nacht. Preis entspricht gar nicht der Leistung. Die Reaktion beim Auschecken auf meine Anmerkung: wir sind leider ausgebucht und das Zimmer drunter wird schon renoviert.

Bijzonder hotel en restaurant, goede en schone kamer en douche. Ondanks dat ik een kamer beneden half ondergronds had was het er bloed warm. Na het poetsen werden de ramen gesloten zodat het als een sauna aanvoelde bij binnenkomst en de kamer vanwege de verdiepte ligging slecht te ventileren was. Mijn kamer was aan de krappe kant dus opletten wat je boekt. WiFi niet top. Ontbijtperfect en diner keuze en kwaliteit ook zeer goed. Personeel zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Vanwege de vele trappen van en naar kamer, restaurant, terras ed. moet u wel goed ter been zijn.

Es ist eine Burg, da gibt es keinen Aufzug und das ist gut so. Die Zimmer sind für eine alte Burg angemessen, ist eben eine Burg. Das Personal war in jeder Beziehung freundlich und korrekt. Das einzige was ich Verbessern würde. Wir hatten mit Hund gebucht und wurden nicht darauf hingewiesen dass der Hund nicht in das Restaurant mitgenommen durfte. Aber wir müssen eingestehen vll. als Hundebesitzer fragt man nach. Wir sind eben verwöhnt durch Sterstaurants da ist es oft möglich, aber wir fragen eben nach. 👍 ist ein Wochenende wert

Mooi hotel op mooie locatie. Mogelijkheid voor een wandeling direct bij het hotel. We waren op doorreis. het lijkt mij geen locatie om je voor een langere periode te vermaken. Bedden zijn goed al zijn de kussens heel zacht. Onze kamer had de mogelijkheid om te verduisteren. Het ontbijt (buffet) is heel goed en uitgebreid. Het personeel is erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Het hotel heeft een mooi restaurant in "ridderstijl" en terras met uitzicht. De kwaliteit van het eten in het restaurant viel ons tegen. We hadden daar meer van verwacht gezien de uitstraling van het restaurant. Niet dat het echt slecht was, maar het was ook niet goed. Ik zou er niet nogmaals gaan eten.

Was für ein ausgezeichnetes Hôtel ab dieser aussergewöhnlichen Location! Sehr gute Adresse, auch um bspw nur gerade auf etwa halbem Weg durch Deutschland unweit der Autobahn zu übernachten - da Hotel bietet aber sehr viel mehr, inkl. Kulinarik und eine sehr zuvorkommende Crew.
