Bentley London

London|0.08km from Boston University - London
This was our first visit to this hotel. Since most of the cheaper 4 & 5 star hotels seem to have doubled their cheapest rates since Covid The Bentley seemed more reasonable. The reception was a bit disorganised with odd desks dotted around the ground floor but the staff were responsive polite and helpful. They did offer to take my overnight case to the room which I declined. But they shouldn’t of offered they should just have done it. I had reserved a King-sized room but they upgraded me to a suite. This was very nice suite, particularly large for central London. It was all outfitted in a luxurious way. I don’t know what the rate for this room would normally be but for the price I was paying(£359) it was very good value. My 2 main complaints of my stay were: the separate walk-in shower’s thermometer wasn’t working so not possible to use the first night. Very bad. Also, on the deal I booked it included breakfast. My wife and I wanted to have breakfast in our room, expecting to have to pay the ‘tray’ charge of £5 each. When the breakfast didn’t arrive for when ordered the next morning, my wife rang Roomservice. They told us we would have to pay fully to eat in our room. At this point I would normally have spoken to the manager and asked him what on earth was going on. But as luck would have it I was running late for a medical appointment and didn’t have the time. So we just cancelled breakfast and left with a bitter taste of being short changed 2 breakfasts. Conclusion-not sure, to be honest. Will possibly try again/

The Villa Kensington

Selected the Villa Kensington due to it's proximity to the Natural History Museum. We planned a visit with our Granddaughter (aged 4) and chose a 3 bedroom room. Everything was ideal. The staff on reception were very pleasant and helpful. Room ideal, clean with air conditioning. Would definitely book again.
Millennium Gloucester Hotel London

Got upgraded to a family room with 2 queen beds which was a good start to the stay. However everything went downhill from there. The housekeeping only arranges the bed, didn’t refil body wash / clear bins unless the bin was full of rubbish. We wanted to do some laundry but the service was terrible. Bad communication among staff and resulted in paying almost 10 pounds per clothing. A good thing is that it’s about 3 mins away from Gloucester station and Sainsbury for daily things.

5 mins walk to Gloucester Road Underground, Sainsbury’s supermarket just 5 mins walk away. Recommended for family staying.
The Cranley Hotel

I booked a one night stay with dinner as part of a mini break with my husband using our BuyAGift voucher. Due to the Queen's funeral our daytime activities had been cancelled therefore I contacted the hotel to request a date change. This hotel is the worst I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with, a total NIGHTMARE! The reception staff are so rude and have zero customer service skills and their 'manager' has yet to call me to move the date. I doubt they ever will. However probably for the best as I have since read the reviews on here and between poor hygiene, used condoms etc (the list goes on), I'm quite glad we didn't stay. Hotel is a total scam, just read the hundreds of bad reviews. I'm very upset this hotel is falsely advertised as a '4 star' hotel which is anything but a 4 star and seems to be a health and safety hazard. I have wasted my voucher and £137 I will never get back. Also to top it off, according to other recent reviews their kitchen isn't open therefore the advertised dinner as part of the package probably wasn't going to happen. Judging by reviews of others breakfast is shop bought pastries and possibly some toast depending on whether the toaster is working. Only good thing that happened was I realised before we went and therefore slept peacefully that night in clean sheets at home. Do NOT recommend.
Ashburn Court Apartments
4.2/539 Reviews
10th – 18th August 2023 Ashburn Court Apartments, 1-2 Ashburn Court SW7 4DG, London I am going to put down random thoughts / comments as they spring up: - check in was smooth, greeted by a friendly male staff - It is at a convenient location to public transport --- less than 5 mins walk to Gloucester Road tube station, bus #49 direct to White City where the big mall “Westfield “is - a rather spacious room albeit not impressive, more like a well-used shared dorm - their website says they have a lift but this lift is a problem because it is not accessible to each and every floor but at alternate floors, so if your room is in between where the lift door opens, then you will need to haul the suitcases either up or down the narrow flight of stairs, which could be strenuous and inconvenient, especially for people with leg problems or mobility problems. This lift is also super small and only fits at most one person with two suitcases - We were assigned room 103 so either we got out on 2/F and walked down or out on 1/F and walked up --- that is the concept of their so-called ‘ lift ‘ - room was clean and neat at first glance but as we stayed longer (for 8 nights) we slowly noticed the ‘not-so-clean’ areas scattered esp. if we looked closely - housekeeping confined to thrice a week including changing bedding + towels, and clearing bins - there is this big tall silver commercial use refuse bin in the corner, fairly close to the bed; such a layout immediately & totally tells you this is a utility based accommodation that has paid little if not zero aesthetic sense in design or furnishing. Merely to spell out the message : with the basics to get you going - toiletries supplied but only shower gel, shampoo + conditioner, body lotion + soap bar. No vanity sets -- no shower cap, no Q-tips+ cotton pads, no toothbrush+ toothpaste, no combs, no travel razors, no bathrobes, and no slippers - bed linen was white and crisp but bath towels could be white one day and then tired-looking & off-white the next replacement - windows able to be slightly opened on cooler nights when an a/c was not needed. Air-con is “Daikin“, horsepower is powerful enough to ventilate the room quickly albeit a bit noisy - translucent gauze curtains snagged & definitely could do with some washing cos they looked grey; felt rather dusty and sticky - dark brown felt two-seater sofa behind the bed must have soaked up the smells & dirt & spills from countless previous guests overtime, so it does not look clean and definitely exudes a faint musty odour. No desire to sit on it. It goes back to the a/c requirement because you need the a/c to ‘ purify ‘ the room to rid it of the stale smell, on top of opening the windows - Ditto for shaggy long wool rug under coffee table that must have trapped loads of grime / hair / loose particles over time, therefore we made sure we avoided nearing it - Shower cubicle is good cos it does not leak but the thing is it is so small there is nowhere to p
