on a two night stay , we had a double room which was n ice and spacious . That said , the bed was dangerously unsafe with both the bed head and the bedsted flapping at the slightest touch and obviously needed immediate attention . We were afraid it could have given way at any time made worse by the extremely hard ungiving very thin mattress. The bedside light was also not working. The bathroom however was simply awful . Starting with the shower which was hanging loose and not able to be fixed as the tiles had come away from the wall , The water fluctuated from hot to cold instantly which I think is dangerous. The wash basin plug had seized solid in the open position and upon inspection , all the controlling rods had seized through no maintainence and furthermore likely they had been seized for months if not years making it impossible to wash or shave . Behind the wash basin pedestal was cobwebs and loose tiles , in fact there were numerous small missing tiles all over the walls of the bathroom . We simply could not stay the final night and found accomodation in the nearby travelodge for the final night . Obviously there wasnt any effort by the hotel to make this room serviceable for guests and I have written to environmental health and the office of fair trading to complain about this hotel which in all my years I have never seen a poorer room of which is not fit for purpose
