I stayed at the Mitre House Hotel in London. The only real advantage of this hotel is its location, but overall the standard of accommodation is extremely poor. For the same price, there are many better options nearby. The room appears to have had no refurbishment since the 1970s. Both the bed and the carpet were unclean — in particular, I am 100% certain that the bed linens had not been changed, as I found multiple hairs of different colours and lengths in the bed. The blanket was visibly yellowed inside and had a strong, unpleasant body odour. Walking across the carpet, the old wooden floorboards underneath creaked loudly. There was also an unpleasant smell in the room, so I had to keep the window open for ventilation. Unfortunately, our room faced directly onto the hotel kitchen’s ventilation system, and between around 4–5 a.m. the entire room smelled as if a chef were cooking right beside my bed. As I had already checked in, I had no choice but to stay the night. Thankfully, I had brought a bedsheet and a camping blanket(always in my car just in case), which allowed me to get through the night. I would never stay here again and would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

It is a nice and comfy hotel. The reception staff are very friendly and warm welcoming. The breakfast service is also good.

This hotel is super convenient, just a 5-minute walk from Paddington Station and 10 minutes from Hyde Park. The English breakfast is fantastic – you can choose from toast, fruit salad, egg porridge, coffee, and juice, and it's delicious, nutritious, and very filling. The service is warm and friendly, and the bathroom is comfortable. Aside from the rooms being a bit small and the carpets a bit old, it's an excellent value-for-money hotel.

The location and service are good. However, the room facilities themselves are old, so I wouldn't recommend it for those who want to relax in their room. I'm not sure if the building itself is old, but when people in the next room walk, the floor creaks. The water pressure in the hotel is also a bit iffy. Plus, the windows don't close properly, so there's a draft, making it quite cold in winter. That said, I think everyone has a different tolerance for these inconveniences, so for those who don't mind, it's probably a decent hotel.

Very good location, 5 min walk to Hyde Park, just outside the congestion zone, with carpark. Overall is clean, but renovation is needed. <Reminder> Hotel claimed for fire safety concerns, hotel guest need to keep the only key in reception and also the car key if you parked your car outside the hotel. Its quite uncomfortable for us, and in fact, someone have go into our room while we were outside (we already placed a “dont disturb” card outside our door

It's quite dated but everything was clean. Beds really comfortable. Little noise where we were. Tv worked with extra sports channels. Breakfast was fine. Coffee was terrible but the tea was fine! Good, friendly service throughout.

The service is great. The people who work there are so nice and helpful. The location was so convenient for what we wanted to do, easy access to the Paddington station where you can catch the Underground or a bus. The only problem we had was no air conditioning and we were there on a hot spell. They had a small fan but that is just moving around warm air. The breakfast was interesting, you go downstairs, and it is like a restaurant. You are waited on and given a choice of an English style breakfast. We asked for eggs cooked over easy and they were hard cooked eggs when we got them, and we asked for brown bread and got white but it was better than just a bagel and coffee. We would go there again just because we loved the location and the staff.

A basic hotel. Reasonable for the price. Very friendly staff. I appreciated the cleanliness. The rooms are very small, in line with hotels of this type in the area, but they are equipped with all comforts. The location is top-notch.

It's a five-minute walk from Paddington Station, the staff are friendly, and the breakfast is pretty good. Other than that, there's nothing great about it. The room has no air conditioning or refrigerator. The window opens, but the stopper is broken, so you have to clamp it in place. The shower is fixed from above, so the water pressure is weak, making it difficult to rinse thoroughly. To get the water to flow, you have to turn the round thing to the right, which requires a lot of strength. You can hear people talking in the next room. Everything about this old, dated hotel is a shame. While I enjoyed sightseeing in London, I really didn't want to go back to my room.

Overall, it's a tough decision, but I think it was a bit disappointing. The location was great, the service was friendly, and the breakfast was delicious. The exterior of the building was lovely. However, there were many disappointments inside. The biggest one was the lack of a refrigerator in the room. It was really inconvenient. The front desk will look after your luggage, but I had to put up with it because it was too much of a hassle. The room was hot and there was no air conditioning, so I had to make do with a fan. The bathroom shower was also difficult to use because it was positioned too high, and hot water only came out of the shower, making it difficult to fill the bathtub. The water temperature was unstable, sometimes boiling water and sometimes just water, which was dangerous. Since the building is old, the facilities are old as well. You can hear everything from the hallway and the neighboring rooms. I requested a room with a bathtub as my criteria for choosing a room. My friend requested the same, but we only got a shower. I wish they would distinguish between a private bathroom and a room with a bathtub. I also wish they would specify whether a room has a refrigerator or not. I assumed a refrigerator would be standard, so I didn't check.

It takes only five minutes to get to PADDINGTON station. There are many restaurants and shops around. There is a rich and delicious English breakfast every day. During the day, the British lady at the counter will remind you to leave your room key when she sees you leaving. The room is not very big, and the soundproofing is not very good. You can hear the noise when you walk in the room. The hygiene is OK, and someone cleans it every day. The only thing I don't understand is that the green spotlight will light up in front of the door at night, which makes people feel very weird from the outside.
