Astor Victoria Hostel

The Astor Victoria was not a bad hostel. The staff (most) were friendly and the rooms were clean. The shower in the room is in the most awkward place so didn't use it. Poor person who has their bed right at the shower door. I opted to take a shower at the airport lounge instead. They have a luggage storage if you areive early, which is a plus. I didn't stay a full night due to a super early airport bus, so I can't really say if it was noisy or not. It was quiet when I left so I'm guessing it doesn't. They do also have a laundry room. Due to the proximity to transits and the price, I'd stay again. Oh, I would say that you should verify that your room is what you paid for because I was alone in my room when a man, using a key card, walked right on in. I booked a female dorm.:/

Messy and noisy place esp in common areas, toilets are not clean and water pressure is terrible. Staff are quite helpful though. Bed was ok, ok if you just want to sleep for a night.

You can store luggage for free for the day you check out. Nice spot if you want to stay close to City Center and China Town. I have been here a couple of time so that I can take coach from Victoria Station to other cities including Oxford.

Overall, a very good experience which is the same as I've had with the whole chain of these hostels in London. Check in was very easy, remember to take ID with you and it has to be an official government ID. Once you've done that at reception who were very friendly, you will receive your key and instructions on how to get through the front door. Connecting to the Wi-Fi was very easy as there was no password. The whole place was very clean and I was lucky enough to be in a room of five beds but only two occupied so it was a very quiet evening. They do have rules about quiet time and there was very little disturbance in the hostel which meant I got a good night sleep. The room had a sink in it. Plenty of shelves and plenty of electric to connect phones to charge or laptops depending on what you had with you. The breakfast was very reasonably priced and looked pretty good though I did not have any as I was meeting somebody outside of the hostel for breakfast. I would also say that there were plenty of toilets and showers which were clean and presentable.

Good accommodation for a short stay!

Not the best hostel I’d say. The building is quite old and outdated. Be careful if you have a lot of luggages because there’s no elevator. The room is spacious but not very clean. The toilet is not in the room but between two floors. It is 15 mins walk from the Victoria Station so I’d only recommend if you’re staying here for a night for going to the Victoria Station.

Bed bugs attack. All over the place. Serious allergic reactions happened, they insisted to put me back into the same room. Horrified
