"The receptionist was extremely friendly and good at food recommendations. Our room facing north has a somewhat unobstructed view of the Hollywood sign and Griffith Observatory despite being a little far away. There was a little traffic noise on the 3rd floor, but it was bearable. The water pressure in the shower could have been better. Food-wise, there's a nice bar/restaurant place and a pastry place in the same building. And there's a good Italian place just a block away. Parking was easy."

"1) The front desk was careless, the room number was written wrong, the door couldn't be opened and the door couldn't be opened. It didn't just happen to me, there were also tenants who opened and knocked on my door the next day.
2) The hotel is a boutique hotel with a retro style and beautiful decoration. However, there is a finger-wide gap in the bathroom glass door, and bath water will flow out, which is quite inconvenient.
3) The bottled water is Evian in glass bottles. After drinking it, you can only fill it with plastic bottles (understandable)
4) My room did not provide a hair dryer. I called the front desk to ask for one and had to wait for 40 minutes. The first time I came, I was only given water but not a hair dryer. I gave a $5 tip and got it quickly (this can also be done in the United States). understand)"

The room is clean and big. Note that there are no slippers in American hotels. Bring your own.
The bath water is also slightly small and the bed is quite soft

"The location is good which is near to Hollywood. However, there is no public transportation nearby, but the public transportation in LA is bad overall anyway. The room is nice. The bed is super comfy. There is a big screen tv. They even provide eye mask and earplug. The only problem we have is the breakfast. There is not many choices: only one hot item, mini croissants and fruits. They only serve breakfast until 9 am, which is too short for us. Overall it’s a good stay."

"The service wasn’t really up to the standards of such a wonderful, high end hotel. We even upgraded our room day of. They ruined our custom cake in transport from the valet to our room, despite the fact we gave them very detailed instructions. They reassured us that they’d be right up. I had to call twice to get them to bring us our luggage (and the cake) and by then a hour had gone by, and the custom decorations had melted off the cake ruining it.
There was a lot of confusion on how they would make it up to us as I had to talk to three different people on the day and the day after who all told me different things. In the end, since they didn’t send us a dessert to make up for the cake they ruined and the champagne they promised was instead $150 off at the bar — thank god I called to ask where the wine was otherwise I wouldn’t have known I had the credit and would not have used it.
Eventually they comped us the valet, upgrade and what they say was an extra drink we got at the bar that went over the $150 (impossible, we all made sure the math lined up) but the communication was a struggle and I did not felt appreciated as a customer."

"The room is not very big and the hotel is a bit old, but the overall environment is OK. The city view of the room is OK. When I checked in, the front desk asked me if I was a Hilton member and gave me a few bottles of water, but they were only available on the day of check-in. When I asked for it the next day, they said it was out of stock and I had to go to the gym to get it. The hotel is in downtown, which is convenient to go everywhere. But the traffic jam during rush hour is a bit serious. Valet parking is 50 (or 60, I can't remember) a day. The water output of the shower is not large enough, and the experience is a bit lacking. The quilt is like most American hotels, with the sheet wrapped around the quilt core without covering it. If you are not careful, the quilt core and the sheet will separate, which is really uncomfortable."

YYC008Here's why we gave the experience 3 stars;
First of all, when we booked the hotel, neither Trip.com nor The Aster, Los Angeles, mentioned anything about the rooftop being closed on the dates we booked. On May 13 and May 14, we stayed in room 3 0 6. The hotel pictures showed and bragged about having a rooftop and plenty of pics of people there, and nowhere was revealed anywhere on their website or Trip.com that would not be available on those dates. When we reached out to Trip.com, they pretty much said that the rooftop amenities weren't listed as part of our package. Really Trip.com? You have to list the rooftop as the amenity... Got it. That was so lame a response. Everyone knows people book due to the pictures, and this was a seriously lame response from the Trip.com customer support personnel. We decided to save our opinion for this review.
The Aster had nice people, but it's hard to believe the availability missing on their website is a detail they would miss. Their hotel has impeccable detail and design. One can only surmise they conveniently left out the information because people would obviously not book there and go somewhere else. I told the front receptionist this as we were checking in. She mentioned, well, it said it on *******. But we didn't book through *******, we booked through Trip.com. And those specific details were not evident. After July 1st the Government is getting stricter on transparency with hotels having to mention things so we missed this window, but we're happy to hold hotels like The Aster accountable:-)
Also, on Wednesday, we checked out, and they had a fire alarm drill test that lasted about 10 minutes. They forgot to mention another minor ”inconvenience” when we booked on their website. It was at 10 am. It wasn't so bad, but to state the obvious, they left out the ability for customers to decide by not making that information transparent during the booking process. It's not like the fire department or tech people didn't schedule that in advance.
1. If you book through Trip.com, please make sure you specify, call their customer support, and get it in writing. The clickbait and pictures seem shady and sketchy and reflect a lack of credibility in the process.
2. Trip.com asked which room we wanted to be in. When we picked the room, we picked the city-view balcony. But we got put in the poolside view instead. It wasn't bad, but that was missing in the booking details that Trip.com sent to The Aster. My fiance ended up being okay with the poolside view, but it should have been in the booking details via Trip.com. So please, please make sure you watch this if you book through them and call the hotel in advance.
Lastly, the decor, valet, and, in general, the service people were very nice and thoughtful. We would give them 5 stars.

RRICCADORAYI recently stayed at Fairfield Inn El Segundo. While I appreciated the convenience of the location and the heated swimming pool, which was perfect for relaxing, I was disappointed with the room. It had a noticeable smoke smell, which detracted from the overall experience. I hope the management can address this issue to ensure a more pleasant stay for future guests.

GGuest UserThe K mattress & pillows were very comfortable. The room was very spacious & quiet. Cynthia from front desk was very accommodating for my request & had a great stay. The staff were friendly, courteous & efficient. The gated covered parking came in handy for the storm & I appreciate they have 3 well functioning luggage carts for guest use. Gateway Towne Center is within walking, 1 block to Best Buy, Marshalls, etc.

JJohnny B GoodThis hotel is not convenient from the airport. There is no shuttle bus from the airport. We saw a fake review that said there is a shuttle bus. it's so bad! Ctrip should not allow such a review!! When we realised that there is no shuttle bus from the airport, we called an Uber from the airport to go to the hotel. Each way the Uber cost 46 dollars (without tip). Even though the hotel is not very far from the airport. We don't know why it's so expensive. So we paid 100 dollars just to from and to the airport. We are not happy about it :(
So don't stay at this hotel if you are going from the airport. Don't make the same mistake we did and waste your money.

AAnonymous UserI received the warmest welcome from the front desk folks when I arrived. It was 1 a.m. due to a flight delay, and they were energetic and lovely. The location of the hotel is absolutely amazing. It took less than 10 minutes to walk to Ovation in the heart of the action, and I felt safe walking to and from the hotel early in the morning and after dark (10 p.m.) because the area is so active. The lobby and my room were very clean. There are several vending machines with lots of options, but none accepted cards, so be sure to have some cash (which I never have). The laminate wood flooring in my room was in desperate need of replacement, but the bed, furniture, and bathroom were spotless. The hallway leading to the rooms was also in need of TLC, and it was noisy at all hours (as was my room). The hotel was fine for my short stay. I am a very seasoned traveler and did my research so I knew what to expect. I definitely got what I paid for. However, it did feel a bit sketchy at times. I heard questionable noises coming from some of the rooms and ran into a few unsavory individuals. I wouldn't recommend it for other solo travelers, particularly those who identify as female. I practiced all my solo travel safety techniques during this stay, so just be prepared if you do stay there.

Ddown to earthDid a last minute booking. Well worth the value. Near the LAX airport and there is a free shuttle to/fro airport - there is no need to reserve. Just go to the correct berth and wait for it. The room is well appointed and great for a good night sleep before flying out again the next morning. Breakfast was ok and much appreciated.
