While we were very excited about this trip, it started on the wrong foot and only got worse.
Literally, from the second we walked into the hotel, prior to checkin, beverage, anything, we were rushed off to a "welcome center". This welcome center is a time share sales center. There is no dispute whatsoever about this. For a hotel which holds itself out as a five-star all-inclusive resort, the experience is exactly what a person would expect from a 1970's vintage time share SCAM from Acapulco.
It is a very very HARD sell. This is before you have even seen the hotel, tasted the food or even been brought to your room. The marketing materials are factual inaccurate and not remotely what someone who can afford a 5 star resort would want. Putting aside the product, who wants the first thing they do after a many hour journey to be a mandatory sales presentation.
The food, which they pride themselves so much upon is putrid at best. Think about going to the worst Mexican restaurant you can think of in any town in Canada or the USA, move that restaurant to Cabo, and change the cuisine from Mexican to the options they offer, Italian, steak, fish, etc. the service and food was the WORST FOOD, we have had in more than 1,000 hotel stays all over the world. The staff were running around like a bunch of ants which had no direction, the food had no resemblance whatsoever to the dishes listed on the menu and were not cooked. We at out almost every meal at our own cost.
