Hotels Near Catholic Charities of Louisville Sister Visitor Center in Louisville

We stayed here because it was the host site for a conference and we were really looking forward to it. Sadly, there were more ”low points” than high points with the Galt House. First, parking is under the hotel and is $30/night for self-park. The elevator lobby was filthy as was the elevator car ride to the lobby. The counter service was fine although very abrupt and curt when we asked about parking options. Our room was in the tower across the street which required taking an elevator or escalator to the 3rd floor, crossing the street through the beautiful restaurant bar built as the walkway, then getting into another elevator to go to the 10th floor of that tower. Really inconvenient since all of our conference sessions were back in the original tower as was our car. It was quite a process to go anywhere. The room was nicely appointed and comfortable. Unfortunately we did not have any washcloths and called down for those. The cleaning staff regularly hollered and slammed doors throughout the day making it impossible for the other of us to work remotely from the room. So noisy. And sadly, no dining options available at the hotel on Sunday night at 7:30 pm. One restaurant, Walker's Exchange, had lights on, doors open and hours of operation posted. We stood at the cashier counter for nearly 10 minutes, saw 2 staff members come to the counter and enter items into the computer but never acknowledged us. Finally we asked if they were serving dinner and the woman curtly said no. Never offered an alternative. Why were the lights on, doors open and hours posted?!? We then walked to the neighboring Jockey Silks bar. Nearly every table was dirty. After waiting at the bar for several minutes to be recognized by the bartender or the woman who walked over from the previous restaurant next door, we asked if they were serving dinner. He told us he could do a few simple things like burgers or wings but he needed to wrap up in 20 minutes for a private event. He recommended a pizza place that delivered to the hotel. And another patron at the bar recommended a restaurant we could walk to down the street. We said we'd order here and were given a menu, then he never returned to take the order. I've stayed at dozens of hotels and have never been at a hotel that caters to business travelers and has at least 3 on-site restaurants, but none serving on a Sunday night at 7:30 and no room service. The conference facilities were very nice.

Travel here for business regularly and the hotel is in the perfect location... walking distance to restaurant/bars and attractions (walked to Louisville Slugger Museum on this trip), clean and spacious rooms... good bar! I enjoy this hotel and would highly recommend for business or pleasure!

Beautiful large rooms with kitchen amenities. Complimentary breakfast which was delicious with lots of choice. The hotel is a minute walk to bars and restaurants. The staff were friendly and helpful especially the valet parking staff. Loved every minute

Carpet in the halls had stains, I smelled **** in the hallway, I told the front desk clerk & she said that she was going to tell housekeeping to spary. This is a smoke free hotel, she never left the desk to see where the smell was coming from. We put our bags in the room & went out for about two hours, came back and still smelled **** in the hallway. We decided that we would just go to bed & check out early and leave, about 11:00 fireworks went off until a little after midnight. I told the front desk that we where going to check out early, she said that as long as we left before check out time , there should be no problem with not paying fr the second night. Well I am still having to pay for the night , that I was no longer in the state. So if you don't mind stains on the floor, paying to park your car in their parking lot, and hearing fireworks until midnight, I would not recommend this place. Run fast !!!!

Beautiful hotel, great location, staff were very nice. I left too early to comment on food. My biggest complaint is the studio kitchen appliances; the fridge was beat up and dented, which wasn't a huge deal, but it did make an AWFUL grinding sound all night which prevented me from sleeping. I eventually just ended up unplugging it, which didn't matter since there was nothing in it, but would have been horrible to have to listen to all night.

I stayed with my fiancé as a getaway to some health issues he had earlier this summer and for a change of scenery. Beautiful exterior and lobby. It appears they have either local or vintage art throughout. The rooftop bar and resteraunt had a great ambiance and beautiful views of the city. We enjoyed the happy hour and other small bites and the food was fantastic. Based on these things, I expected the rooms to match the charm. I was so disappointed however that they didn’t. There’s room for improvement as far as some additional art decor in the room and the lighting is terrible. In the evening, the dim lights make you feel claustrophobic and a little like you’re in prison (eek!). The beds were comfortable and pillows were great, so a few changes could really turn things around. I think the biggest issue this hotel will face in the long term is upkeep and cleanliness. For being only opened a year, it’s starting to feel run down. There are chip and loss of paint on the walls, and the carpets have stains throughout. I’d fire the manager and hire a new director of housekeeping. In the bar upstairs, one of the lounge benches was missing about a yard of fabric and was shredded so badly it was embarrassing. You could see the foam. The showers have a half of a door, so water easily can make the bathroom floors wet. I’m wondering if this is causing water damage, since on the ceilings is appears that it may be. Also, they don’t accept all major credit cards, which their website didn’t indicate. When I checked in, they shared that their system is “finicky” with Discover card. They were nice enough to extend a 50 dollar credit for the hassle, however. Overall, If you’re in town, come for a drink or dinner, but stay at the Omni or a Marriot.

Staff at check in and check out were all very professional, warm and friendly. We rode the shuttle to/from Churchill Downs and we were very happy to have the wonderful drivers Charles and I’m can’t remember the other driver, grey haired, both were friendly and caring. Very convenient for the Derby. Thank you !! Our room on the 7th floor was clean and quiet. It had mini microwave, mini fridge and Keurig. We didn’t use but it was convenient and everything looked clean. The bed was soft and comfy. Complimentary coffee in lobby was good and appreciated. If ever in the area will stay at this lovely hotel again.

Facilities: The shower head doesn’t work well Service: No purified water

Ok room with a great location. Lots of places to go within walking distance. Pool is not heated. My only ding is the breakfast. It was woefully anemic with offerings and not good at all. Stay for the location, but bring your own food or plan to go out for breakfast. Also coffee was not good and there no flavored creamers.
