Hotel Saint Georges Lourdes Pyrenees

Nice and clean. Good location. Underwhealming breakfast

Paying €54 (including tourist tax) for an ensuite room in a tourist town like Lourdes is a pretty good deal, imo. Admittedly secure parking (outdoor) is an extra €15 but that's not bad. On balance, in mid June I might have saved this expense and just parked the bike outside the hotel in the street (as other bikers did) but I really don't like leaving the bike overnight in the street. Devastated to find what looks like a cigarette burn on the bike seat yesterday :( :( I will have to get that repaired somehow. I'm not quite sure why I was so upset by that, one's relationship with one's bike runs deep. Anyway - breakfast at the St George is an additional €12, and is nothing special, machine produced coffee choices and orange juice, various breakfast cereals, yoghurt and bread rolls with ham and cheese etc and a fruit bowl. Nothing social, but parsimonious travellers like myself take advantage of the free buffet and make cheese/ham sandwiches, fruit, boiled eggs etc for a picnic lunch, which makes the €12 outlay go a bit further. Additionally with the subversive enjoyment of stashing your lunch into your bag without attracting the attention of the F&B manager. My room on the 6th floor was a pretty good size, and with views onto the river below. No aircon, somewhat unusually, but I left the windows open at night as it was quiet enough to sleep. TV had a reasonable choice of channels, no English language movie channels, but it did include BBC news, SkyNews and CNN. I'd come back here, staff were pretty friendly and it's only a short walk (5 minutes) into the centre of Lourdes.

Don't Stay Here The only good things I can say about the room is that it was clean and the location was good. We could not shower because the bathroom was tiny. We couldn't fit. We could hardly fit to use the toilet. The towels were tiny and thin. The twin beds were low and uncomfortable. The breakfast was just as spartan as the room. The hotel rates were low, but the condition of the room was lower. This hotel made our experience in Lourdes awful.

This is in a great location and we had lovely views over the mountains. Rooms fine with nice showers/baths. Breakfast needs to be booked. We had it every day. It is 10 Euros and felt like reasonable value. Very helpful staff. I would definitely return.

The hotel is well positioned within 5 minutes walk of the Sanctuary and Grotto in Lourdes. Friendly welcoming staff, clean well appointed rooms with very comfortable beds. I was full board and the food was hot and plentiful. Staff are very accommodating and go the extra mile to ensure your stay is excellent. The only thing I can criticise is the lack of air conditioning. However I asked at reception for a fan and one was provided the same day. This was a great help as it was very hot during my stay. In the 30's daily. I recommend the hotel as a good base when visiting Lourdes.

Would not recommend the restaurant . Food mostly cheap, frozen poor quality. Or hard boiled eggs in many guises. Staff aggressive and just want to dump food and run. No customer service skills. Restaurant run totally for convenience of staff, not customers. It’s a shame as it lets down the rest of the hotel which is good

1st class service from Christine and her team at St George’s. We have stayed here many times over the last 20 years for family Lourdes trips, and this weekend stay, our first since 2019 was superb. Friendly and helpful at all times to our group of 10 plus a 2 yr old child. Rooms and food were great as was the staff, including Philippe the regular and reliable night porter.
