"We stayed for 3 nights, as a last minute break, in the Silver room. Joanne and Kevin are relaxed, friendly hosts, where nothing is too much trouble. The room was stunning and had a real wow factor. We had dinner one night, steak and sea bass, and it was lovely, as was the breakfast every morning. All in all, we had a wonderful stay and can't recommend it highly enough."

"We had a lovely stay here for 6 nights, the staff were helpful. The room was one of the cleanest ive stayed in. We had a room that looked out onto the sheep next door and it was a real joy waking up to them each day before starting our adventures into the lakes. I could not faul the hotel. We did not use the brewers fayre and the outside could use a freshen up as it looks a little run down. But inside was lovely and I would happily return here."

"I arrived on a stormy night in the lake district - on entering the hotel I was met with a warm glow from the log fire and a very warm welcome from the receptionist. As the hotel dining room was about to close, a room was sorted and the kitchen kept open for an evening meal - a delicious melt in the mouth steak was a pleasure after a 6 hour drive from the south of england, washed down with a welcome glass of Shiraz. The bed was very comfortable, the room had a large bath and separate shower cubicle and copious hot water. The decor and fittings were in sympathy with the age and history of the hotel, a pleasant change from the blandness of more modern mass market hotels. The staff were very friendly and it was a pleasure to be assisted without having to use automated impersonal systems. I will not hesitate to stay at the hotel again when I am next in the area."

"I’ve stopped in many hotels all over the country with work but I’ve got to say Workington travelodge is by far the loveliest most welcoming one I’ve stayed in, been here 5 nights a week for 8 months on a contract and the staff are fantastic, friendly, down to earth and the hotel is immaculate I would love to mention every single member of staff are lovely but I’d like to pay particular praise to Natalie, Ayesha and Amber who are always smiling and always have time for a chat. The hotel is immaculate and the housekeeping staff are amazing with nothing being too much trouble. Thank you all and I hope you get the recognition you deserve"

"The room was average. The toilet didn't flush properly, and the water pressure was very low. The breakfast was decent, an English breakfast. The wait staff were very friendly. The hotel is relatively small, somewhat reminiscent of a B&B or family hotel."

"Stayed for two nights at the Chase Hotel. The staff were excellent and the room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. An excellent breakfast. We booked for an evening meal and this too was excellent. Stored bikes safely which is a huge bonus with expensive equipment. Well placed for cycling the coast to coast cycle route."
