Located in Lower Slaughter, the accommodation provides easy access to peaceful Cotswold walks. Guests appreciate the luxurious, spacious rooms but express disappointment with the subpar breakfast quality and service.

Firstly, we marked it is honeymoon stay but there is no gesture of welcoming you for a honeymoon stay at all. We booked £310 for Deluxe Room per night in a rural area. They allowed us early check in but they don’t even write us a card for honeymoon stay or anything. We booked the restaurant at £80 per head but the menu is totally different from what shown online. It is not professional at all. They front office is also unfriendly to Chinese and the staff has a sense of hierarchy. I felt disgusting for it. The only good thing is the breakfast. Thank you.

The website looked amazing however the attention to detail isn’t there. On arrival there was no offer to help with our luggage. We had to search for staff to get a drink at the downstairs bar. We had the bar menu for dinner, totally overpriced and quality of food poor. No atmosphere, fires not Lit (it was a chilly evening) no music. Breakfast - very poor service, waited an hour for our food and certain items came with missing ingredients and no pastries available as they had run out. We went out for the day returning at 4pm but our room was being cleaned. All in all we had a comfortable stay however I definitely expected more.

Delightful. Hiked from Stow-on-the-Wold with a Cream Tea as the goal. Wonderful. Delightful. Exceptional weather these first weeks of April and this noon break was perfect. Hint: there is a beautiful back garden loaded with Tulips in the spring. The front lawn was awesome probably perfect for later in the spring or summer.

The hotel was unable to accommodate a change of date or refund due to the Heathrow shutdown. However, they were more than happy to double the prices of rooms on the same night to take advantage of the situation. Good practice, guys! Further response to GM after correspondence: David, your comments are patronising at best. I am very aware of how dynamic pricing works, and with a cancellation, there should be more available rooms, and pricing should fall. While I understand the practice of not being able to cancel rooms without due cause leaves the hotel out of pocket, this is an extraordinary circumstance, and just saying that we should have gotten insurance is merely washing your hands of it. Would have been happy to stay in the summer for potentially a longer time, and the hotel could have provided stay credit. But the hotel has decided that there is no room for exceptions. You have my email, should you wish to contact me. The booking was for 21st March.

We had a great time visiting Slaugthers Manor. The trip was great and the walking around the neighborhood was fantastic. We had a great time and really enjoyed the food. The common areas were so comfortable and felt like home (so many people felt the same way). As the blooms grow, it will only get nicer. Do not hesitate

Beautiful classic room 25m sq extremely clean, well furnished, comfortable bed, nice towels and soaps , dressing gowns , helpful staff - can’t understand why it’s only an 8.1 on booking. Com should definitely be a 9+ Would highly recommend

If like us you are visiting the twin villages of Upper and Lower Slaughter, the Manor House is just a quick look-see as you walk past. Today it functions as a hotel and restaurant so general access is limited. You can see the house and its grounds from the roadside but it’s set back so it’s a slightly distant view. This Grade-II listed house was, several centuries ago, used as a convent but by the 17th century, the Crown had seized it and in 1611, by King James I granted to Sir George Whitmore, a haberdashery merchant and Lord Mayor of London in 1631. It was some gift. We wondered what he'd done to deserve it. We were interested to see the house because we had just come from the small parish church of St Mary’s where we’d seen the Whitmore family memorials and burial plaques The manor stayed in the Whitmore family until 1964.
