Villa Wanika

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Wanika during our trip to Luang Prabang, and it honestly exceeded our expectations. Firstly, we were pleasantly surprised with a free room upgrade, which was such a thoughtful gesture and a great start to our stay. The upgraded room came with a beautiful private balcony, which quickly became our favorite spot. Sitting there in the morning with coffee and in the evening after exploring the town felt incredibly peaceful. The location is perfect, close to the night market and main attractions, yet tucked away in a quiet lane so you can truly relax. It’s the best of both worlds. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The bed was cozy, air conditioning worked perfectly (a lifesaver in the Laos heat), and everything felt warm and welcoming. The staff were kind, friendly, and always ready to help with a smile. Their hospitality genuinely made the experience even better. If you're looking for a comfortable, peaceful, and value-for-money stay in Luang Prabang, Villa Wanika is definitely a great choice. The free upgrade and balcony made it even more special for us. Would absolutely stay here again!

The location is ideal for exploring the main attractions of the Royal Palace Museum, river and the night market. In the morming between 5.30am to 6am, the monks walk past on the street. Ideal for those wishing to partake in the arms giving ceremony. The walls are thin, and the rooms are not big. Understandable that it was an old building. I was allocated a room on the ground floor, right behind the reception desk. Loud talking by inconsiderate guests after 10pm and before 7am was very disturbing. The hotel should put signs reminding guests to speak softly. Water and fruits was provided at reception, which was a nice gesture. Only croissants and coffee/ tea/ Ovaltine was provided for breakfast. Given the price that I paid, it didn't feel like value-for-money.

very centrally located, comprising 3 floors (basement, 1st and 2nd floor with balcony).room is comfortable. wifi is good. breakfast is simple with croissant, banana and coffee/tea.

I booked (and paid for) a better room than the one they gave me when I was checking-in. After asking the staff why does this room doesn’t even have a window, they just replied “it’s the only one we have”. Breakfast is only croissant and Instant coffee. I would NOT recommend this place.

The hotel is at a very good location easily accessible to tourist place such as night market, national museum, morning market, and Wat Xieng Thong. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Crossiant is very delicious. One thing is about hte cleanliness of the bedsheets and room. The room is a little bit smelly and bedsheets are a bit dirty on the first day I arrived. But, if I visit Luang Prabang again, I would stay here again.
