This is a family run hotel and they really go out of their way to make it a good experience. The entire staff/family work very hard which explains why this place may be hard to book. The only negative I could find was that the pillows were overstuffed which wasn't good for my neck. The free breakfast was plentiful but not to my liking so I went to a coffee shop most mornings. This is not to say that the food wasn't of good quality, just my personal preference.

Back in 2022, it was my first time staying in Sokee Residence. Two years later, 2024. I came back to Luang Prabang again and Sokdee Residence is still the best choice because of the following reasons: I highly recommend visitors visiting Luang Prabang stay with Sok Dee Residence. To start off, the owner, Mr. Soulinda, is friendly, kind, and very helpful. He makes sure the guests staying there are well taken care of. Sok Dee also provides various breakfasts every day. During my stay with them, they offered breakfast from buffet, noodle soup to continental breakfast. The icing on the cake is the coffee they provide along with the breakfast, which is good quality with a proper coffee machine, not those 3-in-1 types. Besides that, the location is ideal. It is very close to Sisavangvong Road, probably just 2 minutes of walking. And 8 minutes of walking to Wat Xieng Thong. Generally speaking, it is a very good place to stay and good value for the money. I will definitely stay with them next time when I visit Luang Prabang again.

Our time here didn't start well as the member of staff who checked us in couldn't have been less interested or less helpful. After scanning our passports we were instructed to follow another member of staff to our room. We were given no information about anything, for example wifi or breakfast. Our room initially looked very nice..traditional style, nice dark wood and spacious. The balcony was also a really good size and quite private. The shower room however is in desperate need of renovation. It was dirty and quite unpleasant to use. The bed was rock hard as were the pillows. It was like lying on a plank of wood with sandbags as pillows. Undoubtedly the most uncomfortable bed I have ever had the misfortune to lay on. Sleep eluded me. The breakfast was extremely poor and unappetising. I had a slice of water melon the first morning and decided to pay for breakfast elsewhere for the remainder of my stay. Needless to say, I would never stay at the Sokdee again and I certainly wouldn't recommend it.

I had booked a room with this lovely family for 2 nights. The room was neat and clean. There was a sitting area in front of the room. The room was in the center; everything was within walking distance but in the evening it was very quiet. I stayed an extra night because there were no more train tickets. The hotel was full, but they still had a place for me. They also helped me a lot to still be able to get a train ticket. The WiFi and laundry service were perfect! Breakfast is simple; more geared towards Asian guests. But there is fruit, baguette and they baked an egg for you if you want. They took me to the train station for a reasonable price. Can really recommend it here; thanks for everything and a hug for pompom… 🐶

Отель удобно расположен, недалеко от центра города. Большие номера оформленные со вкусом в азиатском стиле. Уборка в номерах ежедневная и качественная. В номере есть все что нужно . Плюс - раздельный санузел. Хорошие завтраки, можно выбрать из меню. Отзывчивые хозяева, стараются выполнить все просьбы.
