I stayed for two nights and my room wasn't cleaned, nor were the towels changed or water replenished. There was also construction noise nearby. The male front desk staff member mistakenly booked the wrong time for my shared ride to the station. As a result, I missed it and had to take another taxi, which cost me an extra 140,000. I suggest the hotel provide more training for their front desk staff.

The location was fantastic. We were able to enjoy sightseeing in the city center without needing a taxi. We also loved that we could participate in the alms-giving ceremony right outside the hotel, just by waking up. However, the facilities were very poor. The faucet handle came off, the interior decorations were peeling, and the bathroom shelf was flimsy and kept falling. While I understand this can happen with renovated hotels, I was honestly shocked to see what looked like copies of guests' passports being used for wall repairs, showing a blatant disregard for personal information management. The shower temperature was difficult to adjust, and the bathtub was tilted and slippery, so be careful! The most disappointing aspect was that our room was never cleaned once during our three-night stay. It was frustrating that we had to ask for towel changes, mineral water refills, and toilet paper refills ourselves. Furthermore, the replacement towels we received were wet and unfolded, which was quite unhygienic. The walls were thin, and we could hear noises from the adjacent room. On a positive note, the hotel offers a mini-bus service to the China-Laos Railway station for 60,000 kip (approximately 440 yen) per person, which I highly recommend.

Loved the location—everything you need is minutes away. There was a booking error on my first night, but it was handled well; I got the room I paid for from day two onward, plus a goodwill refund. Just a heads-up: being on the alms route means some very early morning tourist bus noise.

The worst I’ve ever experienced in my whole life and totally disappointed by the management refusing a refund when we were obliged to leave the hotel after the first night in an unhealthy room (see pictures), including old dirty water stuck in the bathtubs which didn’t permit us to take a shower after long hours traveling, nor the next morning. We were told another room would be allocated the next day but at 3pm afternoon still saying that they don’t know where others customers were to give us another room … we didn’t understand at all how customers can disappear hours after checkout (if it was true) so we moved out because we wanted to shower and have a room! The worst is that we’ve paid and hotel doesn’t want to refund anything and should I add, manager didn’t dare to show up to meet us for explanation and long ignored trip.com calls / emails! You can be lucky there or totally unlucky! You can judge with the pictures by yourself why we left and why we can the room was unhealthy (and far from what it looks on the picture).

Good location in the middle of the center. At sunset you can see the monks passing by from the room. Great experience!

Staff didn’t speak good English and also weren’t very helpful. Other than that, the location is amazing. It is across from where they do storytelling night and alms giving happens right in front of your door. Don’t opt for breakfast, we did and when we went for breakfast they only had 1 option available (out of the 8 they advertise), there’s good options around for breakfast.

This home-style hotel is located 5 minutes walk to Sakkaline and 10 minutes walk to Mekong river. Everywhere is close, complete facilities, comfortable beds. There is a unique stone-style bath up and all made of wood. There is a balcony where you can sit while looking out. The receptionist is friendly and the breakfast has been determined in western style. In front of and around the inn there are many places to eat that are delicious and cheap. The hotel is right at the corner of the crossroads. In the morning in front of the hotel you can give alms for the monks. I really like to stay here.

Stayed at Ancient Luang Prabang Hotel during the National Day holiday for 347.7 RMB. Pre-paid 26.66 RMB for one day's breakfast (80,000 Lao Kip, at an exchange rate of 3000). For less than 200 RMB, I got to stay in a historic building within a UNESCO World Heritage site. The room had a bathtub and a fridge, and there was even a balcony overlooking the street. I could watch the alms giving in the morning.

This is a great hotel, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. It's a bit of a walk (5-7 minutes) from the city center, but being slightly off-center gives it a more authentic, local feel, almost like being at home. The rooms are spacious and clean. The staff are very friendly. The breakfast was decent. Highly recommend!

Terrible. The soundproofing was awful, and the facilities were dilapidated. The hot water pipe burst, and the air conditioning broke down suddenly – it was incredibly frustrating. There was construction noise during the day and motorcycles at night. I could clearly hear the front desk staff chatting.

It's a nice budget place in the center of town.

Highly recommend this spot for its fantastic location – close to cafes, morning and night markets, and with popular tourist attractions just a stone's throw away. However, since it's right by the river, mosquito protection is absolutely essential.

Due to a double-booking error, I was directed to a different accommodation, so this review is not for this specific hotel. I chose this hotel because it had a bathtub, but the place I was sent to had neither a bathtub nor a balcony, which was quite disappointing. There were a lot of Chinese guests, and the staff seemed to be having a tough time managing. However, the location is convenient for access and participating in the alms round.

The bathtub faucet leaked for two nights in a row, and I had to use a towel to plug it to stop the dripping sound. Other than that, it wasn't a big deal, but cleaning the bathtub would be better as it was super slippery. Don't book extra car rental services at the hotel; it's much more expensive than outside. After renting a Scoopy, I saw that prices outside were almost 40% cheaper than at the hotel. The Scoopy the hotel rented for me was also out of gas, and they told me to fill it myself, requiring an extra 80,000 kip for fuel. I chatted with other foreigners at Kuang Si Falls, and everyone thought it was outrageous.
