History Buffs; you couldn't find authentic lodging than Jardins de la Contie! According to the English owner Ken, the farm was built in the mid 1300's. It was a labor of love for Ken and his wife to restore it. He was a wealth of information about the countryside, Figeac, and the historic places around Figeac. Our room was perfectly equipped with refrigerator, tea maker, coffee maker, and four beds; one King and two Singles. It was on the first level the property, surrounded by fields and ancient lanes which you can walk from the compound of three cottages plus a cool heated swimming pool. The breakfast was standard French fair, but topped off with a lively discussion with Ken about life in the Middle Ages and his efforts to totally restore the buildings. It's approximately 7 km from Figeac on good roads. I highly recommend this B&B to anyone interested in history and is one of our favorite places to stay in SW France!
