No. 1 of Luxury Hotels in Taipei
Designed by the renowned André Fu Studio as a modern mansion, Capella Taipei beckons you to craft your own sanctuary. Perfectly situated in the dynamic Songshan district, this haven of luxury rises above the city’s vibrant pulse, offering a peaceful escape within reach of Taipei 101, Taipei Arena, and Songshan Airport. Delight in a journey of flavours across five distinctive venues, spanning an intimate omakase experience to a multi-storied destination bar, each a celebration of artisanal flair. Rejuvenate at our spa, a restorative retreat sculpted with organic curves and a grounding atmosphere, that welcomes you to fully unwind. Capella Taipei reveals a new layer of the city's rich character, blending tradition with modern allure through immersive experiences, from exploring the city's oldest neighbourhoods to visiting a scenic tea farm nestled in the mountains.

"Facilities: As it's a relatively new hotel, all the facilities are very new and clean. The only downside is that the shower door's waterproof strip was faulty, so every time I showered, water leaked out and wet the bathroom floor. I had to use many towels to soak up the water, which is unacceptable for a hotel claiming to be high-end; such a small detail should not be an issue. Hygiene: As mentioned, the hygiene was excellent, which is expected from a new hotel. The housekeeping staff did an acceptable job. Ambiance: I particularly loved the decor; it's simple yet luxurious, modern yet refined, showing a great sense of style. Service: As an experienced traveler, I believe the service doesn't match a hotel that claims to be the top luxury hotel in Taipei. While the local Taiwanese staff are professional with their smiles and greetings, there's no warmth. You feel a coldness behind their smiles and enthusiasm. Dining: Overall, the dining was quite disappointing. They have a lounge, which functions like an executive lounge, but all the food was very ordinary. The drinks were excellent, but breakfast was also very average; the bread and food didn't live up to the hotel's luxurious decor. This was a major letdown. The breakfast and lounge food were far inferior to what you'd find at the Mandarin Oriental, which was quite disappointing. Summary: I've stayed in many hotels in Taiwan, including the Mandarin Oriental, Hyatt, and W. From a luxury, value-for-money, and service perspective, Cappella should not be ranked as Taipei's number one luxury hotel, for the following reasons: While the hardware is excellent, some details are lacking. As I mentioned, the bathroom's waterproof strip, and there was also a strange smell in the room, possibly due to the new renovation. These details need improvement to truly be considered Taipei's top luxury hotel. More importantly, the service needs work. Overall, the hotel should further strengthen its staff training on service to ensure guests genuinely feel their service is warm and thoughtful, rather than just professional. Only then will it live up to its luxury status and price. If you ask me to recommend this hotel, I have reservations. Given its reputation and price, it's not worth recommending. Perhaps if the value for money were better, it might be worth a try."

"The staff were incredibly welcoming. As soon as I entered the room, I could feel the hotel's thoughtful and cozy decor. The private hot spring bath was huge and even had a cold spring water pool, which was perfect for a refreshing rinse after a soak. The mini-bar in the room had a great variety of drinks. In the afternoon, they delivered complimentary fruit and snacks, and in the evening, there was even plum wine for a nightcap – absolutely fantastic! I stayed for two nights and got to enjoy two different breakfasts, both Chinese and Western set meals, which were incredibly rich, refined, and delicious."

"This is probably the most cost-effective hotel in Taipei. The room size is decent, but it's definitely showing its age. There was a stale, sweaty smell in both the room and the hallway. The executive lounge service was excellent, no complaints there. However, the front desk service on the first floor was absolutely terrible. An elderly lady couldn't hear what the staff member was saying, and the short-haired staff member repeated herself several times with extreme impatience, then threw things and rolled her eyes, which was quite disgusting. There were a lot of Japanese guests, and it was very noisy at night. The low service score is due to the front desk; the F&B and the executive lounge staff were all very professional."

The hotel’s dining options also include Ciao, The Sicilian Steakhouse, which embodies the essence of Italian slow dining—encouraging guests to savor premium cuts and fine wine in a relaxed and indulgent atmosphere, delivering a truly exceptional five-sense travel experience.

"Our overall stay at the Hotel Junpin was excellent. The location is incredibly convenient, right near Taipei Main Station, making it easy to access the High-Speed Rail, regular trains, and the MRT. The hotel's decor has a distinctive European vintage style, and the common areas have a great ambiance. Our room was also very clean and comfortable. The bed provided good support, and the soundproofing was above average, so we had a very restful night's sleep. The staff were friendly and attentive. The check-in and check-out process was smooth, and they were quick to assist us whenever we had questions. The breakfast offered a wide variety of choices, both Western and Chinese, and the overall quality was good. One minor point to note is that some of the design elements are quite strong, so it might not appeal to those who prefer a bright, modern style. However, considering the location, service, and comfort of the accommodation, it's still highly recommended. We would definitely consider staying here again on our next trip to Taipei."

They may also pay a visit to the La Fusion Bar to have a drink while chatting with new friends.

"I stayed for 5 consecutive nights, and from my room, I could see Taipei's landmarks like Taipei 101 and the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall. Every day, I could also grab free snacks from the hotel's 'gan-a-pu' (a small convenience store), and they even provided a small bag for them, which was a thoughtful touch. The only minor drawback was one night when I was woken up by some noise. I called the front desk, and they immediately sent staff up to investigate. They said it was a pipe sound. After inspection and repair, the noise stopped, so their efficiency was quite high."

"As per other reviews, the location is perfect. It is linked to the Taipei Main station. The hotel can be accessed through the basement via exit M6 (staircase but sheltered) and M8 (escalator, but need to cross the road). The downside of the room is the aircon faces and blows directly on the face when laying on the bed. It can be disturbing when sleeping. The hot water shower and basin tap is a challenge to adjust, as it is not the normal turn to the red sign for hot water. The front desk staff are not friendly, they usually do not have smiles."

"The hotel's location isn't super convenient, you'll need a taxi to get around. However, they do provide a shuttle bus service, and on weekends, there's even a shuttle to Jiantan Station for the Shilin Night Market. The hotel's decor has a very distinctive style, and the service is excellent. Staying in the back building is a bit inconvenient as it requires a shuttle, but the staff are very helpful and the shuttle arrives quickly when called. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and each comes with a dehumidifier. The food is delicious, but remember to make a reservation in advance for the Yuan Yuan Restaurant on weekends, as it fills up quickly and doesn't accept walk-ins. We ended up going to the cafe for beef noodles and bubble tea, which were both very good. I wouldn't recommend the salt and pepper chicken, though."
