"Pros: The location is superb, directly opposite Mount Fuji, though I only had a couple of hours of view during my two or three-day stay. The hotel was very clean. I had dinner at the hotel both nights, including sukiyaki in the room one night, which was quite good. The service was excellent, and the price was reasonable. Cons: The rooms were a bit small and dated for the several thousand yuan per night price, making the overall value poor. The hotel is a camping-themed hotel, so if you're not interested in camping, there's no need to spend so much money on a stay at Hoshino."

"The room with the view of Mount Fuji was amazing; just looking at it made me feel so much more peaceful. The hotel offered complimentary snacks and drinks, and the dinner was also very good. The service was thoughtful and attentive. They provide a shuttle service to and from Kawaguchiko Station. "Staying here when visiting Lake Kawaguchiko to see Mount Fuji was absolutely the right choice! Our room faced Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchiko directly, offering an unbeatable view. We booked a Japanese-Western style room, which was divided into two separate areas. It can accommodate up to 4 people with extra futons, perfect for families or friends traveling together. The hotel includes a Japanese dinner, which is served directly to your room. Enjoying a meal while admiring Mount Fuji creates an amazing ambiance. There's also a delightful happy hour until 6:30 PM, where all soft drinks and beer are free and unlimited – talk about incredible value for money! Downstairs, there are separate public onsen baths for men and women. Today, I had the women's bath all to myself. Soaking in the quiet, spacious bath while gazing at the lake and mountains was so relaxing, I didn't want to leave! It was truly a triple-S experience. The service was attentive and gentle throughout, making the entire stay a perfect 10. This place is definitely on my list for a second visit; I'll choose it again when I return to Mount Fuji!"

"The views are truly incredible, especially when you are as lucky as us and get clear skies for two days in a row. It’s hard to describe or show with photos the awe of Mount Fuji! You’re certainly paying for a view at La Vista Fuji, but that’s not to say the service isn’t also incredible. Many English speaking staff and always willing to try to help even if it takes a little longer to understand each other. The building is getting a bit dated and there were signs of maintenance and cleaning slipping just a little bit. Mainly cob webs in the hall ways and some expected wear and tear in the bathing areas and other parts of the building. Nothing to worry about, when the rooms themselves are kept clean and tidy."

"【Location】The hotel's location isn't ideal, a bit secluded. It's surrounded by Japanese residential homes. If you want to eat or go out, you'll need to walk about 12 minutes to Kawaguchiko Station. The hotel is on a hillside, so it's on a slope. If you have luggage, you can reserve the hotel's shuttle service to and from Kawaguchiko Station. It's most convenient if you're driving. We hired a car from Hakone, which cost 900 JPY for an Alphard for 1 hour and 13 minutes. The hotel offers a free shuttle service from 8 AM to 10 AM, round-trip to Platform 10 of Kawaguchiko Station (at 3:00 PM, 4:00 PM, 6:00 PM) and Fujikyu Highland Bus Stop (at 2:15 PM, 5:00 PM). It's a 900-meter, 12-minute walk to Kawaguchiko Station, or a 600 JPY taxi ride. There's a large supermarket nearby. 【Highlights】You can enjoy a magnificent view of Mount Fuji from every floor! The rooftop terrace is available for BBQ. Considering the inconvenience of dining nearby, we opted for a 'one-night, two-meals' plan, which includes breakfast and dinner. Dinner is either Japanese yakiniku (grilled meat) or sukiyaki. Breakfast is delivered to your room. There are also limited-edition Mount Fuji cakes. The rooms are equipped with smart devices, projectors, kitchen facilities, toiletries, tea bags, coffee beans, and BBQ equipment. It's perfect for a group of friends looking to rent an entire villa. 【Check-in/Check-out Info】Check-in is at 3:00 PM, with the latest check-in at 8:00 PM. If you arrive after 8:00 PM, an additional fee of 5500 JPY per room will apply. Check-out is at 10:00 AM. A late check-out until 11:00 AM will incur an additional charge of 3300 JPY (143 JPY). Hotel Email: Info-44321tfk@toki223.com 【Suggestions】The guesthouse could provide electric bicycles for guests to rent and use for getting around. Increasing the frequency of shuttle services would also be helpful."

"🌟 Taking my kids and elderly parents to see Mt. Fuji and enjoy hot springs was an amazing experience at Fuji Lake Hotel in Kawaguchiko, far exceeding my expectations. [Smiling face][Grinning face] We visited during summer with my kids and two 80-year-old parents. Since my parents can't walk much, we decided to visit Lake Fuji and downtown Tokyo. Considering the multiple transfers involved with taking a train and bus from Narita Airport, we opted for a private car. On a weekday, traffic wasn't too bad, taking about 2.5 hours. We drove through downtown Tokyo, enjoyed the scenery, and even stopped at a rest area. However, private car rentals here are quite expensive. [Smiling face][Grinning face] We chose Fuji Lake Hotel, located right by Lake Kawaguchiko, offering fantastic views. Opened in 1971 and renovated in 1990, the hotel is older than me, but the facilities are incredibly well-maintained; you'd never guess its age. It's about 1000 meters from Kawaguchiko Station and only 400 meters from the ropeway station and boat pier. [Smiling face][Grinning face] The hotel is divided into East and West wings, with spacious rooms. If you're used to small rooms in Tokyo, you'll find these very comfortable, with plenty of space to open your luggage. We chose a package with breakfast and dinner. Dinner is a buffet with a wide variety of options, including wagyu beef, sashimi, tempura, and all-you-can-drink beverages. For breakfast, you can choose between Japanese and Western styles, both very satisfying. Both meals are served in a restaurant with beautiful views – you can sit by the window to see either the lake or the mountains. The wagyu beef teppanyaki, cooked fresh, was incredibly tender and fragrant. [Smiling face][Grinning face] Let me specifically talk about the hot springs. The public bathhouse has both indoor and outdoor baths, as well as semi-outdoor ones. It's clean and tidy, with massage chairs at the entrance for relaxation, though the public bath doesn't offer views of Mt. Fuji. Upon check-in, we were asked to choose our yukata and towels, which came in an eco-friendly bag, making for a very comfortable soak after a day of sightseeing. [Smiling face] The real highlight is the private onsen. There are private baths that can be reserved; those in the East Wing face Mt. Fuji, while those in the West Wing face Lake Kawaguchiko. Prices and sizes vary slightly. Some rooms with open-air baths also offer mountain views. On a clear day, soaking while watching the morning light on the snow-capped peak is a wonderful experience. If you want a panoramic view of Mt. Fuji, remember to go to the observation deck on the 7th floor of the East Wing in the morning for an expansive view. The facilities aren't brand new but are kept very clean, and the service is meticulous and thoughtful. There's a significant price difference between weekdays and weekends, and booking early also secures a better rate, making it good value for money if you get it. Also, there's no snow on Mt. Fuji during the summer; it's only visible about 80 days a year, mostly in the mornings before clouds obscure it around noon."

"I absolutely loved the hotel's style. It has a very tranquil and peaceful atmosphere that makes the world feel less chaotic. This time, I stayed in the Butterfly room. From the moment I was picked up at the station by the staff to the check-in introduction, everything about the stay was fantastic 👍🏻. Also, breakfast was personally escorted to the Dining Room by the staff, and I was completely full after the meal 🤣. Oh, by the way, everyone should try the inconspicuous little ramen stand diagonally opposite the hotel at the traffic light 🍜. It was my first time hearing that a street food stall required a reservation, and I waited an hour before finally 'cutting in' to get a spot 😂. It's just less than a minute away, directly opposite the hotel at the traffic light. The taste was really good for that area. Finally, thanks again to the hotel staff for their thoughtful arrangements."

"The location is pretty convenient, about a 10-minute walk from the bus station. It's located on the south side of Lake Kawaguchiko, which I guess is why it's called 'Hotel on the South Side of the Lake'? They offer a shuttle service to the station, but I'm not sure if they have a pickup service as well. They have private open-air baths with constantly flowing water, which can be a bit noisy at night. There are also public baths. I'd recommend not specifically booking a private bath that claims to have Mt. Fuji views, as seeing the mountain is more about luck than location – you can still see it from the public baths. The dining is excellent and varied. Dinner included sushi, hot pot, and rice, offering plenty of choices. Breakfast was also good, with a wide selection. As for local specialties, that really depends on your personal taste. Service was very friendly. I didn't encounter any staff who spoke Chinese, but they made every effort to communicate effectively and provide excellent service."

"we loved this hotel the most as it had a mini garden we could enjoy, room was super clean and modern vibe. Interesting how their breakfast was delivered to our room in a wooden box. there was welcome drinks sparkling wine. Do note that you need to book their dinner (for mains) in advance (preferably 1 day in advance), latest till 3pm of the same day. We didn’t know and arrived at 4+ so we missed the timing, however we managed to still dine in and ordered their appetisers and snacks, which were also filling enough. the latest late check out we could get was till 11.30am. location is slightly inaccessible if you dont drive. we rented a car so it was still okay for us."
