"Facilities: Very good Cleanliness: Cleaned very well every day Ambience: Great location, I like the hotel design Service: Initially, the service was okay, but I felt a lack of responsibility. I forgot to pick up my child's allergy medicine when I left the hotel on Tuesday. They called and promised to ship it to Four Seasons Osaka the next day at the latest. They called on Thursday afternoon and were told it hadn't been shipped yet. After repeated calls, they finally delivered it to the hotel on Thursday evening. I'm speechless. Is Four Seasons service this bad these days?"

No. 1 of Luxury Hotels in Kyoto
Set in a secret garden at the heart of a forest, Aman Kyoto lies at the foot of Mount Hidari Daimonji. The resort’s latticed guest rooms pay contemporary homage to the traditional Japanese ryokan inn, each framing spectacular natural surroundings. The changing seasons offer views of lush green maple leaves in early summer and stunning autumn foliage. Dining options include innovative cuisine that captures the essence of the seasons, as well as an exquisite omakase kaiseki, reflecting the artistry of Japanese culinary tradition. Aman Spa, with its mineral-rich natural hot springs, provides a deeply relaxing experience while forest bathing walks and meditation amidst serene natural beauty offer a profound connection with nature. Located just a stone’s throw from Kyoto’s golden Kinkaku-ji Temple and 16 other UNESCO World Heritage Sites, Aman Kyoto is ideally situated to explore the cultural treasures of this ancient city.

"I went to Aman Kyoto with high expectations, but was greatly disappointed. The hotel is in a narrow mountain stream, with some trees in front of the guest rooms. There is a stream that is about to dry up behind. The room area is very small. The rooms on the first floor can be opened to the outside, but there are trees and rocks outside. The rooms on the second floor can only look at the trees at the door. The room design is old, the wood bathtub is black, and one day it broke and could not be filled with water. What is more incomprehensible is that the hotel's sheets are very old and have a hole. The bedding has not been changed for three days, and I have lived with the holed sheets for three days. Some people are polite and warm in service attitude, but some are stiff in attitude. The most terrible thing is the hotel's dry cleaning service. The hotel does not have its own laundry room, and it outsources the laundry. The clothes cannot be washed clean at all. I said that it was not washed clean. A man in the hotel said: The laundry room has been cooperating for many years and it has always been like this. If it is washed clean, it will damage the clothes. I wiped the stain with the hotel's water and a small toothbrush dipped in soap in front of the male waiter, and the stain disappeared immediately. But the waiter said that the dry cleaner cannot use water and a small toothbrush, so it cannot be washed clean. After returning to China, I sent the clothes to the dry cleaner again, and all the stains were cleaned. Pros: The hotel breakfast tasted good, but the cooking methods were almost the same every day, and only the fish species were adjusted. Experienced Aman: Beijing, Shanghai and Kyoto, the best one is Shanghai, with picturesque scenery, warm service, small animals and children to play with, and a good restaurant Beijing's rooms also feel average, and the service is much worse than Shanghai. One thing is that there is a small door to go to the Summer Palace for a morning run 🏃 In recent years, the hotels that feel better are Shanghai Aman and Beijing Mandarin Oriental Shanghai Bulgari's room has a sewer smell, and the breakfast is also extremely unpalatable"

"We booked one of the rooms with the best views a month in advance. The 68-square-meter room was incredibly spacious, offering stunning panoramic views of Kyoto, centered around the iconic Yasaka Pagoda. Service was exceptionally warm and attentive from the moment we stepped out of the car at the hotel entrance. Upon check-in, welcome drinks like champagne and sake were offered. They can also assist guests with reservations at the popular Kohaku Bar. The gym is cleverly designed, although a bit compact. A slight downside is the hotel's location right next to popular tourist attractions, which means many visitors and potential traffic congestion when traveling by car during peak hours. However, the ability to enjoy peaceful evening strolls through Ninen-zaka and Sannen-zaka largely offsets this minor inconvenience."

"The advantages are that the surrounding environment is relatively quiet, there are relatively few guests, and there will not be too many problems with the service process; the disadvantages are average cost performance, the landscaping is very rough and does not meet the quality of this price range, especially the hotel restaurant is not recommended, the price is expensive and the taste is very average, the breakfast is also very ordinary, and other means of transportation except taking a taxi are basically walking, and the air conditioner is a bit noisy."

HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO, recently awarded the highest Three Key hotel distinction by Michelin, is the first of the HOTEL THE MITSUI brand of iconic, ultra-luxury properties, designed to embody and reflect the harmony between the natural environment, the four seasons, and the five senses. Located in the heart of Kyoto, adjacent to the legendary Nijo Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, our Kyoto luxury hotel is an idyllic sanctuary honoring ancient Japanese traditions and embodying the legacy and spirit of Kyoto. The hotel is built on a 250-year-old historic site that was once the home of the executive branch of the Mitsui Family, carefully designed to reflect a luxurious ambiance of refined sophistication. The first Japanese hotel to receive a Five Star rating from Forbes Travel Guide in its opening year’s inspection—and maintain it for four consecutive years—is also featured on Condé Nast Traveler’s 2024 Gold List and is the only Kyoto property, and one of just six in Japan, to earn the Michelin Three Key distinction in 2024. and named in the list of the World's 50 Best Hotels 2025, HOTEL THE MITSUI KYOTO is an awe-inspiring feast for the spirit and the senses and a cultural gateway to discover everything Kyoto has to offer.

"We loved our stay at Hotel the Mitsui. Super nice and zen design . Absolutely adore their lobby area, which I think is designed by Andre Fu. Always drawn into his work somehow. Breakfast food was okay, but the view really made up everything l. Super relaxing & beautiful Service was great. Most of them were able to speak English proficiently. There’s a thermal spring at their basement, which you have to call the reception before you go to ensure there’s enough space. Everything was well prepared, including swimwear, disposable underpants, towels, water, etc. Since they control the # of people, everyone has their own space and it still feels very private. Room is nice with many details. Love their huge selection of pillows available for guests. It’s not huge, but the space is well used. Location wise, I wouldn’t say it’s the most convenient, but if you take a cab, everything is reachable in 20 mins max, so it’s not too bad. There are still good restaurants and touristy places to go that are in walkable distance, so it’s not middle of nowhere. Overall, fantastic experience which I will recommend for others!"

The Ritz-Carlton, Kyoto sits on the banks of the Kamogawa River—a site favored by Japanese nobility since the 17th century—offering sweeping views of the magical Higashiyama Mountains. This urban resort features 134 guest rooms and suites with distinctive Japanese motifs, four restaurants and bars, authentic Japanese cuisine, and a spa for the ultimate rejuvenation.

"The price doubles and goes up. I have stayed in this hotel many times. It always feels good. I came here again after many years and felt that the overall service and the quality of the food in the hotel were much worse. In particular, the service may be understaffed during the peak season, but it is indeed a very good hotel. Be sure not to make any mistakes when booking a hotel, otherwise he will be unkind and only care about money! "

The Westin Miyako Kyoto (KASUI-EN) is an ideal spot for travelers wanting to discover the city. The Westin Miyako Kyoto (KASUI-EN) is an ideal choice for travelers who want to take in the sights and sounds of Kyoto. Traveling to the hotel is easy with Misasagi Station located approximately 2km away and Osaka International Airport roughly 56km away. The closest major public transportation, Keage Metro Station, is only 600m away. Keeping busy is easy, with Gion, Hanamikoji-dori and Nanzen-ji Temple all nearby. At the end of a busy day, travelers can unwind and relax in the hotel or go out and enjoy the city. This Kyoto hotel provides parking on site. Guests tell us the location of this hotel is fantastic.

"This is the hotel I was most looking forward to and the least happy about during my entire trip. I booked two nights for RMB 15,000. I arrived at the hotel at 22:00 on the first day. I could only check in at the lobby of the Westin ordinary room. I didn’t get any special reception. The guy at the front desk had the coldest attitude in the hotel during the entire trip. You can't even squeeze out a smile. When I was going through the process, something unexpected happened. The employee in charge of Kaishuien (who was not wearing a kimono, but was dressed in the clothing department) was very serious and even said to me with a black face, ”You, immediately, tell your child not to have sex” Stomping in the lobby! I even thought I heard it wrong, because the lobby was a very empty traditional lobby, and not even a single guest was seen at night. I don’t know who was affected. I felt that she just hated children, so she issued such an order. I immediately called the two children After being quieter, she rolled her eyes and said nothing. When you first meet someone, you don't even give a warm greeting or greeting, but you start criticizing the guest. Is this the etiquette that your Jia Shui Garden should have? When we got to our room, it was even more exaggerated. She wouldn't let my two children talk! This is a suite, I don't understand why kids can't play in the room to express happiness and excitement? The introduction was always very robotic, and in the end, he actually accused my child of not putting his feet on the table. When the child heard that the sister didn't like him, he immediately hid, and the whole process was like a dean of discipline who kept scolding the child! This is the room I booked. It is my right to use it how I use it. How can I feel like I am living under someone else's roof? Finally, I couldn't help but politely argued with her, and rolled my eyes a few times. I want to ask what level of executive you are? Dare you treat your customers like this? Finally, I suppressed my anger and sent her away. I was so angry that I couldn't sleep all night. I have never felt so uncomfortable staying in a hotel! The next day her leader went to work. She was a very professional and attentive older lady wearing a kimono. Her service was very good. Only then did she realize that the last woman was a low-level employee responsible for cleaning and food delivery! It’s really a big deal! Fortunately, the people I contacted later were very polite and received meticulous care, but my mood was really deeply affected by this person on the first day! ! ! I regret not taking a picture of this person's name tag, but if you check with the hotel, you will definitely find it. It was a waiter in her 20s with bangs who received us on the first night. Finally, in fact, if you book a regular room for 1,000 a night, you can also visit Jiashui Garden. You don't have to pay ten times the price to make a big mistake, especially if you step on the thunder like me, the gain will outweigh the loss."

"The location is quite convenient, the lobby smells good, and the service is warm and thoughtful. The most common room size is a bit small compared to other Six Senses hotels, but it is generally OK, with an environmentally friendly style and no plastic bag elements in the decorations and supplies. If you are used to healthy eating, breakfast is highly recommended! I personally like it! It's just that the taste is relatively light, mainly the taste of the ingredients themselves."

Enjoy peaceful moments in the hotel’s tranquil garden or explore its vibrant cultural shows. Additional features include a fitness center and concierge service. Guests can dine at Benoit Kyoto, guided by Ducasse Paris, enjoy handcrafted sushi at SUSHI-BAR @library, or begin the day with a seasonal buffet breakfast at Restaurant Library. Bathrooms provide separate bathtubs and showers, Japanese bidets, and signature eco-friendly amenities. Room service is also available.

"We chose a large corner room with windows on both sides. The hotel building has a history of more than 200 years. The location is great. It is right at the entrance of Kiyomizu Temple Commercial Street. It is quiet in the bustling city. The hotel is very quiet and elegant, with high-end decoration, complete facilities and excellent service! Breakfast is served in a library-style restaurant, which is very special. I highly recommend Japanese breakfast. Everyone thinks it is high-end Japanese cuisine when they post it on WeChat Moments. There are also vegetarian and children's meal options for breakfast. I also strongly recommend the window seat in the executive lounge. Drink Japanese tea or Japanese whiskey in the afternoon and look at the quaint buildings outside. It is worth the effort!"
