Don't be fooled by the gorgeous exterior photo of this hotel. There is no grand lobby to speak of that you would expect to match the building facade. Rather there is no lobby!!! As you enter the building there is a Starbucks to the left and a Covid testing facility to the right with people in line waiting to get tested that you need to walk by. Around a corridor you will find the reception - and that is where the bad part of this report starts. We had booked a Deluxe Design Suite and when we checked in that is was the room type written on our reservation card. We got our room key and walked back by the covid testing line and waited amongst them for the elevator. Up to our room and no special area of hotel as promised, no shower in room - just a tub with no curtain, no double sink, no electric blinds, and a room less than half the size as advertised. We go back down to the lobby and told them that the room was not the one we booked. They argued with us that it was indeed what we booked despite it missing the features and size they advertised. They had the nerve to say to us ”.......we didn't know having a shower was a criteria for you......”. They said they had no other rooms and offered us nothing in compensation other than we could switch rooms the next day. We went back to the room contemplating whether we would try and find another hotel and after a few minutes the front desk called and said another room had come available. A different clerk brings us a new key and shows us to a different room in the ”special” area of hotel - same hallway except you needed to use your key to access a door blocking the hallway to an identical hall - nothing special here like having a concierge lounge etc etc. This new room was closer to what we booked so we accepted it. We stayed four nights and everything was ok except they did not replenish the bottled water each day - told us 2 one litre bottles per stay not per night. I would not have written a review except fir what happened upon check-out. A manager checked us out and asked how our stay was and our response was fine after they got our room sorted out. She looked at the reservation and said well the room you booked was what you were originally placed in and then proceeded to argue with us that there was no difference between the rooms and that not all Deluxe Design Suites come with a shower. Rather than argue with her we walked out pissed off at them once again.

Boutique Hotel Weisses Kreuz - Adult Only Hotel

We stayed here for 2 nights in Lucerne. A great choice! I had communicated with the hotel via email in advance, and they were very responsive. NOTE: The hotel is located in an area that is a no-car-zone. The website states you can be dropped off, but our driver would not do it, so we ended up schlepping our luggage several blocks over cobblestones. When we arrived around 11am on a Wednesday our rooms were ready (thankfully!) so we were able to take the luggage up, freshen up a bit and head out to find lunch. The hotel is located literally 1/2 block up from the river. A perfect location near all the restaurants on the riverside with a view and tables outside. You can easily walk from the hotel to the train station, both famous bridges, and shops all over old town. We booked a Superior Double Room on the 4th floor. There is an elevator. The room had a king bed, a desk with chair, and another comfy chair. We had a corner room, so plenty of windows. The bathroom is tiny! Decent closet with a safe and a small fridge with free water and a few creamers. There is NO air conditioning, but we were able to open the windows for a fairly good cross-breeze, and the overhead fan is efficient and quiet. There is street noise until about 10 - 11pm. We could hear the restaurants putting the tables/chairs up for the night, but after that slept quite well. When we had the windows closed there was minimal noise. Bed was comfy. Like many European hotels, they don't have a top sheet - only a comforter. (too hot for warmer weather with no a/c). I suggest using the blanket from the closet, or asking for another sheet if that would be a problem. The restaurant attached to the hotel is Italian. The pizza and salad were great! And good wine and beer choices. A bit expensive (as is everything in Switzerland), but filling and tasty (and convenient). The breakfast is at a nearby hotel and was very good. It is not included, but had a great menu and good coffee. Staff was friendly and helpful! We would definitely stay here again.

Waldstaetterhof Swiss Quality Hotel Lucerne
4.1/560 Reviews
The hotel is about 300 meters next to the train station, just across the road. However, as a girl, the shower room is a bit crowded when taking a shower, and occasionally touches the wall, which is as big as dried tofu.
Art Deco Hotel Montana Luzern
4.4/51 Reviews
Cost-effective hotel in Lucerne, Switzerland, balcony view is the snowy mountains in the distance, mirror-like lakes and forests
The Hotel Lucerne, Autograph Collection
4.4/537 Reviews
Breakfast 30 pieces in order to save resources is an unlimited number of windows to order food can be seen in the maintenance of a small garden room on the side of the road 3 people living space is large electric window L'Occitane's toiletries is the front desk staff overcharged extra bed Although the money later retired the money bill and said that it is good to send the mailbox, it has not received any suggestions. If you go out or get the bill in time, check out the restaurant downstairs. The independent operation of the Bamboo network is very high. There is no location. It is worth a try. it is good
Hotel Astoria
3.9/579 Reviews
Like Lucerne, the hotel is also good, spacious and comfortable and bright, the bathrooms in the rooms are large, breakfast is on the first floor, the content is rich, and individual tourists and tour groups are separated, which is good. I stayed for two nights, and one of them was on weekends. I did n’t know where there were any parties nearby. The singing and joking noise continued into the middle of the night, which really disturbed the people. It seems that the quality of Westerners is not as evaluated.
Luzern Youth Hostel

We were allowed to spend a night in the youth hostel with my class as a start in our competition. Breakfast was very praised by everyone and the rooms offered everything we needed. Thank you again very much for flexibility and spontaneity.
Hotel Spatz
4.1/528 Reviews
The hotel is about a 20 minute walk to the river and the station. Walked it both night and day and I felt very safe. Reception is clearly signposted and you walk through a little outdoor area with chairs and tables to get there. There is a lovely reception/restaurant area (where you can also grab your coffees) Check in was easy and fast. The staff were very friendly. We seem to have a large room with a balcony area which had a couple of chairs and a table outside (not every room had this). Restaurant was open from about 7/8am where I was able to grab a coffee and soft drink. A clothed Iron was available on request. We explored the city at night and the reception area was shut by the time we got back but the room keys gave us access through a different door which was really useful. Overall, we had a really pleasant stay and I would absolutely return.
