Hotels near Spreuer Bridge in Lucerne

The Staff was very friendly, one of them was Kevin (I Think), and also two other ladies also on the desk was very helpful in guiding us regarding our travel. We stayed for 3 days and the whole concept of the Hotel was different. We had an infant with us and wanted to change the room we were allotted and they readily agreed and luckily they had one bigger room with king size bed to accommodate them. The breakfast was regular and most importantly the staff being very nice and helpful, which has made an impression on us as this was the first time we traveled to this city. For the amount you pay for this Hotel in Lucerne, it's certainly very cheap for the services you get. It's based on a Theme so most of the rooms have bunker beds so even children would love it. Not much space inside the room or shelves to keep stuff. But then its a budget Hotel. Would stay again if I visit this city again. Its 8 minutes walk from the Station.

I was really excited to start travelling after 2 years hiatus. I chose Switzerland as I had already made plans for the a 3 weeks trip in May 2020. I had to cancel it due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I picked Alpina Hotel in Luzerne due to its great loation and affordability. It is near many eateries and other attractions. I booked 2 rooms; 338 and 339. We get to enjoy the street view and marvelled at the beautiful building opposite our rooms. I noticed that the opposite building was built in 1537 [ need to confirm this ]. The street was generally quiet except in the mornings when rubbish trucks cleared did their cleaning. The room has simple layout and mine has 2 sinks in the living area. The bed and pillows area are comfortable. The bathroom is small but all items worked well. I did not see any staff at Alpina as most of them were based at the nearby sister hotel, The Monopol, which is located about 20m away. Checking in was fast and easy and it was done at Monopol. I was grateful for all the guidance and assistance provided by the receptionist. Alpina hotel is located about 110m away from Luzerne Train Station and it was relatively easy to find. My room ; 339 is bigger than 338. All in all, I had a really great experience staying in this hotel.

This hotel is conveniently located within walking distance from the station, although it may be more convenient to take a bus if you have luggage. The breakfast provided was sufficient, and the room, while small, was clean and offered at an affordable price.

We stayed here twice in July and August 2020 as a stopover on our way to Italy. The hotel is conveniently located at the Raststaette Neuenkirch. The noise of the highway is not troubling, especially not in the rooms located at the backside of the hotel. The rooms have no airconditioning, but a ventilator is provided and it is possible to open the windows, although not completely. The rooms were very clean and the staff friendly and helpfull. Views from around the hotel show mountains and countryside. Within a few kilometers, there is the Sempachersee which provided us with a refreshing swim after a long day of car travelling. The breakfast was fine. The price was fine in comparison with other hotels in Switzerland.

The room was average. The front desk and restaurant service were very poor. There were no smiles during the whole process. The scheduled superior room with a sofa bed was changed. Both of the sofa beds were broken. Finally, two mattresses were made on the ground. I'm not sorry.

Don't be fooled by the gorgeous exterior photo of this hotel. There is no grand lobby to speak of that you would expect to match the building facade. Rather there is no lobby!!! As you enter the building there is a Starbucks to the left and a Covid testing facility to the right with people in line waiting to get tested that you need to walk by. Around a corridor you will find the reception - and that is where the bad part of this report starts. We had booked a Deluxe Design Suite and when we checked in that is was the room type written on our reservation card. We got our room key and walked back by the covid testing line and waited amongst them for the elevator. Up to our room and no special area of hotel as promised, no shower in room - just a tub with no curtain, no double sink, no electric blinds, and a room less than half the size as advertised. We go back down to the lobby and told them that the room was not the one we booked. They argued with us that it was indeed what we booked despite it missing the features and size they advertised. They had the nerve to say to us ”.......we didn't know having a shower was a criteria for you......”. They said they had no other rooms and offered us nothing in compensation other than we could switch rooms the next day. We went back to the room contemplating whether we would try and find another hotel and after a few minutes the front desk called and said another room had come available. A different clerk brings us a new key and shows us to a different room in the ”special” area of hotel - same hallway except you needed to use your key to access a door blocking the hallway to an identical hall - nothing special here like having a concierge lounge etc etc. This new room was closer to what we booked so we accepted it. We stayed four nights and everything was ok except they did not replenish the bottled water each day - told us 2 one litre bottles per stay not per night. I would not have written a review except fir what happened upon check-out. A manager checked us out and asked how our stay was and our response was fine after they got our room sorted out. She looked at the reservation and said well the room you booked was what you were originally placed in and then proceeded to argue with us that there was no difference between the rooms and that not all Deluxe Design Suites come with a shower. Rather than argue with her we walked out pissed off at them once again.

The breakfast is in place, and everything should be there. It's definitely good to be full. The scenery is really beautiful. Excellent value for money. A 50-year old store that has been passed down by the family for generations, it is warm and comfortable. It's 16 degrees cool in the mountains. The dinner was especially good and the price was very reasonable, which overturned my impression of Switzerland being stupid and expensive. The facilities are a bit old, but they are well maintained, and there is a little noise when walking on the real wooden floor. There is a parking lot, so parking is very convenient.

Guys, yesterday, we had a night stop near Lucerne at Schloss Hotel and shared our lunch at Swiss Chalet restaurant with the whole family. Kids were happy with their “monstruous hamburgers“ with French fries. My wife and I started with the curry soup with prawns and went on with the “Rösti & Leberli“, a typical recette. We had a walk after that, to see those nearby very old Swiss Chalets and enjoyed a quiet night, just over the lake shore. A unexpected nice experience and all in all, a very affordable package indeed.

We were allowed to spend a night in the youth hostel with my class as a start in our competition. Breakfast was very praised by everyone and the rooms offered everything we needed. Thank you again very much for flexibility and spontaneity.

I stayed at the Gasthaus Badhof for a week. I booked on the hotel website and got a special price for staying seven days in a row. The hotel is located in a quiet town five minutes by car from the centre of Lucerne. I went down walking to the city in less than an hour twice, walking along the edge of the lake to the city. There is a bus line -free for being a hotel guest- with a stop a few meters away, very convenient for the return, uphill. It is a one-story building with twelve very spacious rooms (50 m2). The architecture is very modern and the quality of the construction, facilities and furniture are excellent. The bathroom is integrated into the room, the shower is a very well built glazed hurna. Each room has a large covered terrace where you can admire the magnificent landscape: an nine-hole golf course and, in the background, Lake Lucerne and the Swiss Alps. You can walk or go jogging around. I had an underground parking space -with charging point for my electric car- with direct access to the room by elevator -no additional charge-. On the ground floor is the reception and the restaurant lounge with large windows to the golf and exit to sit outside. The breakfast is not of great variety -because the hotel is small- but it is served in a very correct way and with fresh products of very good quality. All the hotel staff and golf course caretakers are very friendly and professional. They are always willing to help and showing their best smile. I think it is an ideal place to stay to visit Switzerland staying in a real four-star hotel, modern, quiet, clean, discreet, convenient and reasonably priced.
