Just had a two night stay with a stunning sea view. Found Andy & his wife were so very welcoming, chatting to us about the area, pointing out great places to walk & explore. We had the choice of pitches which were just a little slope, but we had been told about this prior so had our chocks at the ready. Facilities were basic but spotless, plenty of hot water for a nice long shower after a days walking. Lovely

It is the first visit to this wonderful site arriving from West Wales yesterday in our new motor home with the two dogs. Reception staff were very helpful giving all the relevant information, leaflets etc before guiding us to the motor home service point to fill up with water, then to the grass pitch with electric hook up. No additional charges for our Pembrokeshire Corgi and miniature Jack Russell. Being members of the CCC, enjoy great discounts as elderly. The site is almost full with holiday makers. Facilities are excellent, well laid out. It is on a hilltop, hence can be quite windy being close to the sea with fresh air. There is sanitising dispensers even where dog poo bags are disposed of! Grounds are well maintained by hardworking staff, so are the toilets, washing up areas, toilets and shower rooms with plenty of hot water unlike some sites ! Free Wi-Fi signals very good, handy to keep in touch with friends and families. It’s my 77th birthday today receiving messages. Not bringing two levelling ramps was our mistake as some pitches are sloping! Be prepared! It is a very tranquil setting, picturesque and good to walk the dogs. We haven’t been able to explore the surrounding areas yet but, reading the information leaflets, there is plenty ! Our journey on A routes and motorways guided by the sat nab was easy. The last 12 miles on B routes need to be driven carefully and final short drive narrow but, I managed in our Ford Auto-Trail F72, thankfully didn’t have any oncoming vehicles as I am not good in reversing!

A well kept site with helpful staff. Yes the facilities are dated but they are clean with lots of hot water and the site is reasonably priced. A bit breezy being on top of a hill but lovely views. A pleasant walk down into Lynton - steep by the shortest route but there are options and a bus at the end of the lane. The Cliff Railway from Lynton to Lynmouth is a must do. Fantastic engineering feat from the 1890s!

A quiet campsite on the top of a hill. The introduction by a lady was comprehensive and cheerful. She explained that the toilet facilities were a little dated but very functional and after having used them I can honestly say that I have seen worse, much worse. The toilets were clean and the hot water was quick to arrive and genuinely very hot. The water pressure in the showers was fine. It's a bit of a trek down to Lynton but I had an electric bike so wasn't bothered about the one in four hill. I had an excellent pitch by some trees next to reception and the shower block and drinking water facilities were very close by. Apart from the sheep and the strong winds it was quiet. The site is quite close to The Valley of Rocks and Lynton itself, which is quite quaint. Never mind the sign that says unsuitable for motors when going to Lynton as if you have a normal-sized car it's really not problem and certainly shorter than going round the recommended route. I originally booked for two nights but the weather on the second day did not merit staying for the second night so I left early. The weather was to blame as it was very cold and windy; on a warmer, calmer day I would have enjoyed myself very much but even the best campsite in the world can't control the weather. All-in-all, a fine campsite and one to visit again.

Stayed for 9 nights and for all of those nights the ladies shower block was closed and what was offered, in disrepair. Having looked at all reviews for this site, the common theme of disappointment is the facilities. Surely as consumers we deserve better. Come on Camping and Caravanning Club, spend money on your sites, you make enough of it. Your staff deserve better and so do the campers.

Fantastic weekend In Lynton. Great coastal path walks. The campsite was clean and tidy. Very quiet and peaceful. Ade and Sandy were very helpful and had lots of local knowledge. They gave us lots of useful advice on walks and places to visit. Would definitely recommend this place. Perfect base for lots of adventures.

A lovely location. However, the facilities were very poor - ladies showers out of use for most of the week and only 2 showers available. Children were not allowed to play any ball games on site. There was 1 swing and 1 slide on the whole site. The site managers were very pedantic and inflexible. The photo shows how much available space there was on the site.

The location of site is peaceful and in a lovely area with sea views however for the money paid facilities are extremely poor to the fact I would find another site and not return to this one. Only 2 showers available due to showers in main block being out of order, the drainage is disgusting in the old shower block for these 2 showers build up of years hairs and dirt visible from one of the shower drains very much like a sewerage fat drainage problem also peeling paint. Very few washing up points queuing for washing up for 10 minutes. Main toilet block same old outdated and worn. Warden is great does what he can to keep site clean but his hands are tied he works 100% to keep site nice. If you are a camper I would definitely consider going elsewhere I feel site is not worth the money. You can’t make excuses for poor facilities. Caravan and camping if you can’t upgrade this site then don’t advertise it for campers but caravans only I am laid back about facilities but these are shockingly bad. I expect better from caravan and camping club. Happy to take your money for poor facilities which you can’t excuse or make excuses for.
