For those who prefer not to stay in modern high-rise hotels, this castle-converted hotel is definitely worth trying. It's stunning at first sight, built into the mountainside with natural spring water flowing down aqueducts within the castle right to your feet. The rooms are incredibly spacious, featuring two bathrooms, a wet/dry separation, and a sunken bathtub. Cleanliness is good, and the air conditioning is super powerful. If you have luggage, make sure to ring the doorbell at the entrance of the hotel; a staff member will come to help you carry it, as there are two sets of uphill steps at the hotel entrance and no elevator!

I initially chose this hotel because it looked quite unique. The location is relatively quiet, but the room had a very strong musty smell and stayed very damp even with the AC running all day. The decor is rather dated and doesn't look as distinctive as the official photos. When we checked in, the pool was closed and didn't look very clean. I originally wanted to sit out in the courtyard, but the overall hygiene and cleanliness weren't great. The suite size is decent, and breakfast is served as a set menu per person, which tasted okay. Overall, it feels more like a guesthouse than a hotel. Not great value for money, and there doesn't seem to be much to explore in the surrounding area.

I've had my eye on this 400-year-old hotel in Macau for a long time, but it's usually fully booked on weekends and holidays. As I suddenly decided to go to Macau this week to attend Louis Koo's concert, I saw there was just one room left and grabbed it. It's indeed just as lovely as I expected, and the location is very convenient with the A-Ma Temple station right downstairs, making it super easy to head over to Taipa or go to the concert. It would be even more perfect if the breakfast selection was a bit more lavish.

The hygiene was good, and the location was decent. The room was spacious, with a living room, one bedroom, and two bathrooms. It's less than a 5-minute walk from the light rail station, which is convenient for visiting places like Wynn Palace and Taipa Village. For Macau Peninsula's St. Paul's Ruins, you can take a bus or even walk; it's not too far and offers nice street views along the way. The hotel itself is quite unique and beautiful, great for those who enjoy taking photos. Since it's an old building, there's no elevator, but thankfully, someone helped with our luggage. However, after a long day of sightseeing, climbing the stairs was a bit tiring. The front desk is on what feels like the 3rd floor, and our room was also on the 3rd floor (counting from the front desk as the base, it felt like climbing about 5 flights of stairs in total). The hotel environment is excellent and quiet, though the air conditioning was a bit noisy, which might affect light sleepers at night. Overall, it was a good experience, and I'd recommend it.

In general quite cozy. Traffic wise pretty close to metro and the.reception help to get a taxi. Breakfast is simple but tasty. A cultural heritage hotel.

Ugh... for our summer trip with the kids, I wanted a change of pace, so we stayed at the Castle Hotel. Maybe it's because of its long history, or to be blunt, it's just old-fashioned. So, compared to larger hotels, many details weren't ideal for the kids (see picture). The king-size bed was made of two smaller beds pushed together (see picture 2), which felt too small for anyone over 1.7m. Can't they improve this? It feels a bit too basic (especially considering the painful 1500 per night room rate). Then there's the hotel's breakfast, 238 per adult for... basically instant noodles. Forget it, I'd rather just suffer through a 48 burger. Overall, the experience was just so-so. I'm glad I only booked one night because of Qixi Festival, and thankful to Qixi for that one night. Oh, and the pool the kids wanted to go to? Heard it was too dirty, so they lost all interest... okay. Our first night in Macau was a pretty mediocre experience.

The room was spacious and comfortable, and the ancient architecture was quite unique. Although the breakfast was simple, the burgers were delicious. The view outside the hotel was beautiful, and with a bus stop and subway station nearby, it was fairly convenient.

For our trip to Macau, we opted out of the bustling areas and chose this unique and well-preserved ancient building instead. I heard that a Chinese designer, who also designed Dubai's 7-star Burj Al Arab, was responsible for transforming the entire building into a hotel. The room was very spacious and well-divided, with the sleeping area inside and a separate living area outside, ensuring privacy. There's also a long, narrow balcony where you can enjoy distant sea views and towering buildings! The mattress was super comfortable, leading to a deep sleep, and there was also a vintage rocking chair nearby. I have to highlight the shower; the oversized rain showerhead made for an incredibly comfortable bathing experience! The toiletries were L'Occitane. The restaurant staff, Clariza and another gentleman, were both excellent, enthusiastic, and professional, providing great room service! The hotel is conveniently located opposite the MTR and a bus hub, making it easy to get anywhere in Macau! All in all, staying at the Hotel Fortaleza do Monte was a thoroughly satisfying experience!
