Hotel Dufour ★★★
Incanto Walser Apartments Testa ★★★
"A chalet immersed in nature, equipped with everything, tastefully furnished and comfortable. Far from the chaos but close to the town and services: the village is pretty and quiet, the town of Macugnaga can be reached with a short walk in the woods."
Dream hotel ★★★
"This is the last mountainous lodge we are staying in Italy and is the least friendly and most unappealing place. Room has no electric flask or any cups. You've 2 paper cups at the sink and 2 bathrobes + 2 tiny shampoo bottles. All the lodges that has missing electric flask, we asked reception and they'll always try but not here. Wifi is also not stable. Out and in with weak signal. Owner was nice to send us menu 1 day prior for arrival. My husband replied with the courses and politely ask if they can serve at 7pm? but as usual like most places we've been they can't. When we checked in, reception said our pre-paid dinner is served 7:30 to 8 - meaning it will be later than 7:30pm, I won't be able to keep my eyes open after 8pm. Hence we went out to town to explore at 5pm to see which resto is open. We found a few open at 7pm. I rush back to hotel hoping to negotiate if food can all be served by 8pm or cancel altogether if not possible. When arrived, she's busy with guest so I went to my room, after 30min. I tried calling reception, no answer. So I came down at 6:30pm hoping to catch her before I head to resto. No one was in the reception. I immediately texted my friend who's also staying in the same hotel to inform the owner that we won't be having the dinner. Anyway, we thought all was good. Came back hotel happy and well fed at 8pm saw the owner, smile and of course no smile back. Next morning, came down for breakfast at 8am, she's still in her grouchy mode. I just assume she's in this funky mood at all times. She was actually so angry with us for not having pre-paid dinner. We didn't know till we're about to leave for our hike and she told my husband off that she has laid the table and prepare our food and we didn't turn up and storm off. Husband tried to go to reception to explain nicely to her but of course... Question to this drama, is it necessary to be so angry for things we already paid but didn't use? Yes we should have inform her much earlier but as we only explore the town at 530pm. We had a big hike the day itself and we are so hungry and tired when we reach her hotel at 3pm. Since she's "miss Happy" when we turn up, we didn't dare to ask more questions or try to negotiate further. If you're easily upset, inflexible and can't bring yourself to smile often, then probably running a hotel or B&B is not suitable for this person."
Hotel Signal ★★★
"Excellent structure, very friendly and helpful staff. Surely when I return I will stay there again. Excellent breakfast. And also excellent for the availability had for my wolf dog. I hope to return soon."
