Hotels near Plaza de Cibeles in Madrid

The location is very good, right next to the Prado Museum, 10 minutes away from the Atocha train station, very close to the attractions, but quiet, the hotel is very quiet. The atmosphere around the house is very good. Retiro Park is right next to it, Alcala Gate is just around the corner, there are monuments and so on. The decoration of the hotel is very fresh, and the handsome guy at the front desk is very polite. I was pleasantly surprised that there is a set of ceramic kettle; the family room has a set of bunk beds, which the kids love very much!

Everything about the bathroom is not ok with so many problems such as: on hot and cold shower and on rain shower which we were unable to use at all; shampoo and bath gels bottles which cannot be used.

I stayed at the hotel September 2022. The facilities were great, very modern an clean. It was good even for staying with a baby. I was also impressed by the kind and helpful staff. I would personally like to thank Yasmin. On the day we left, we had to go to the airport, but due to a cycle race event where to course went through central Madrid, we couldn't get a taxi or uber to the hotel. We were frusturated as the time for departure was getting close. The Yasmin came to us and walked us to a place where we could meet a taxi, (She even carried one of our luggage) and told the driver our situation. We were lucky to make it on time. I know people who work in the hospitality industry are helpful and kind, but the commitment that she showed for her customers was exceptionally sincere. She was really concerned for us, and really tried hard to help us. NH Collection MAdrid Suecia is very lucky to have such committed staff. I once thank the hotel and Yasmin for the hospitality you have provided for us.

Overall we stayed in 3 rooms - the first we rejected after one night because the shower was unacceptable with an awful smell of drains emanating from it and there was no bath as alternative. The second they moved us to was much better with bath in the room but it had a shower cubicle which again smelled of drains - we didn't use it. The 3 rd room was a luxury duplex suite after we'd left the city and returned for one more night - yet again the shower smelt awful and they had to send the housekeeper up to pour disinfectant down it. They blamed rain but it hadn't rained on all the days - I blame the construction of the showers - marble slabs with gaps in between where dirt and mould was visible - frankly quite awful. We found the hotel otherwise a bit strange in layout but comfortable, nice terrace bar/restaurant and a good buffet and cooked breakfast. Staff were helpful except for young lady who suggested I needed 40 minutes or more for taxi to train station - I got there in under 5 minutes !

Absolutely loved this hotel. It was perfect for a couple traveling with their children. We stayed for a week, the location was amazing across the street from The amazingly beautiful Retiro park. The staff was great, rooms cleaned very well. We had the included breakfast which was great lots of choices. Can’t say enough about it. Having a junior suite with separate bedroom and huge separate space for sitting and bunk beds was key for us to have a wonderful week! Would definitely return!

The location of the hotel is very good, and there are a lot of open-air restaurants and shopping places. But the hotel has a certain room type that can accommodate three people. Whether the couple carries a child or the parents carries two children, the front desk strictly implements the rules for two people. You need to add money to another room type with a sofa bed to accommodate three people. This information hotel did not provide at all when booking with Ctrip.

As a Marriott Titanium / Lifetime Platinum Elite Guest, our family [husband, wife and two young daughters] decided to visit Madrid, Spain to start our month-long 2023 summer vacation in Europe. We spent five (5) nights at Westin Palace Madrid using our Bonvoy points in late May / early June 2023. Please see the thirty-eight (38) photos we posted with this review of all aspects of the hotel. Within days after making our five (5) night stay using Marriott Bonvoy points approximately ten (10) months prior to our arrival date, we emailed General Manager, Pablo Flores and advised him of our future stay as well as our special requests, including our request for an Executive Suite, which would comfortably host our family of four. Within hours of our email, we received a thoughtful reply Paloma Hidalgo, Director of Rooms, whom immediately provided us with a complimentary guaranteed upgrade to an Executive Suite and further, Ms. Hidalgo readily granted all of our other special requests. The prompt response did not come as a surprise to us given how active the management of this property is in reading and promptly replying to past guests on Trip Advisor as well as the Marriott Bonvoy website, which is but a mere sign of management’s commitment to exemplary customer service. Not surprisingly, we were overjoyed with such a response and really looked forward to our future stay at The Westin Palace Madrid. This gorgeous historic hotel is magnificently located in Madrid overlooking the Neptune Fountain and less than a three minute walk to the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, less than a five minute walk to the Prado Museum and less than a ten minute walk to the Reina Sofia Museum. It is also extremely close to Retiro Park and is within an easy 15 minute walk to Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and the Gran Via as well as many bars, restaurant, trendy cafés, market and other cultural attractions. You can easily walk everywhere throughout the entire city but public transportation options abound in close proximity to the hotel as well. Our initial visit to the Westin Palace Madrid did not disappoint, especially when the hotel accommodated our extremely early check-in (before 9:00 am). The check-in process with Ms. Hidalgo, Estefanía Martinez, Front Office Assistant Manager and Juan at the reception desk was a breeze. Further, Ms. Martinez was kind enough to personally escort us to our suite and show us all of the features and amenities of same. This was very thoughtful on the part of Ms. Martinez and very much appreciated. Throughout our entire five (5) night stay, Ms. Hidalgo and Ms. Martinez were especially helpful and friendly. We simply loved our Palace Executive Suite with slightly over 1,000 square feet in total space with a sublime view of the Neptune Fountain; it was truly remarkable. Further, upon entering, we discovered that Mr. Flores and his team were kind enough to provide us with several 1 liter bottles of both sparking water (Vichy Catalan) and sti

1. Breakfast is very good, put a table, full. It is right to eat local things, and it is recommended that the parents who go abroad bring their own cup noodles. 2. The room is blue and white, and it is very well matched with the decorative blue and white porcelain. The details are everywhere, and Spain is the country with the most artists. 3. What impressed me the most was that there were slippers and a hot water bottle. 4. The hotel is very nice to go around, where we are all going. 5. Hotel service is very good. 6. The elevator mouth has capsule coffee and snacks before noon, so you can't eat it.

This lovely hotel is truly a gem. We just finished a 10 day stay and loved the entire staff. The hotel had a boutique charm to it, modern and cozy. The hotel restaurant has very nice breakfasts and at night a bar and light fare as well. The hotel is located in one of the most vibrant areas of Madrid. Outdoor and indoor cafes, shops and restaurants. The Prado and Sorolla Museums are within walking distance or a quick 5-10 minute cab ride. Cabs are very reasonable and Uber as well. Madrid is an extremely fun walkable city. We totally enjoyed both museums. Joaquin Sorolla was an extraordinary artist in the impressionist style. The museum is housed in his magnificent original mansion. We found the Madrid people friendly and helpful. We would choose the AC Recoletos again if we return to Madrid.

All was well done. The location is perfect to enjoy Madrid, accessible but small and private. Service was great at all levels—professional and friendly. Access to services 24/7 is a plus. Will go back and refer to others. Enjoyed our week-long stay.
