Hotel Maritimo

I agree with many who posted before that the hotel is in an excellent location. But the walkway in front was overused by electric scooters and motorbikes. The hotel staff, every one if them, were brilliant, except the cook. We were half board, the breakfast buffet was excellent, but, the evening meal was not, especially the the grilled chicken breast. It could have repaired worn shoe bottoms. The old town and the "Front" are fantastic. But I'm not going back.

The hotel is very basic in a nice position beach is opposite, I found the room to be quite dark. We were facing the mountain. My advice would be to book a sea facing room with a balcony Let down for me was when we were leaving the receptionist asked us for a tip on our bill from 5% to 20% which would be a considerable amount on the bill I was really surprised I've never heard of that before made feel uncomfortable. I don't know why anyone would tip a receptionist she doesn't move from behind the desk

Amazing family hotel, everything spot on. All staff are brillant, waiters always with a smile, cooks all food was great, cleaners happy souls and made sure we had everything. and especally big thank you to both in reception Anna and Martha who go out of their way to make sure all is ok, thank you for making it a wonderful holiday. Management should be very proud,dont change a thing. Will definetly be back with hubbie Thank you

Stayed for 11 nights at this lovely hotel on the front at Makarska. We had booked a mountain view room not being able to upgrade to a sea view through Jet2. To get the only real negative out of the way to begin with there are only 3 such rooms and the one allocated to us was Room 101, the lowest of the three, and it was very dark, immediately above and adjacent to the kitchen with a view of a wall. There was no chance of upgrading but after one night we were moved to room 301 which was much brighter with lovely views of the mountains and this made our stay very much more enjoyable. The room itself was spacious, beds comfortable with a mattress topper which can be removed if a firmer bed is preferred and a lovely bathroom with powerful shower and a plentiful supply of hot water. Temperatures were in the 30s and the air con worked very well keeping the room comfortable. We were breakfast only but chose to eat in four times in the evening. Breakfast is a vast spread, which if we were to criticise at all, tended towards too much sweet and 'non breakfast type' savoury items for our tastes but the quality is outstanding. Maybe the eggs in the server could have been replaced more often but you can ask for omelettes, fresh eggs and other cooked breakfasts on demand all of which were good. The evening meal menu is good and reasonably priced and we enjoyed them all. The staff from, reception to serving staff and cleaners were all lovely, friendly and very helpful making for an excellent stay. Location is perfect on the pedstrianised promenade, couldn't be better!

My sister and I stayed for a night at The Maritimo Hotel during our trip in Croatia. Since the minute we arrived, we felt welcomed. The room was spacious, clean, with lots of light and a beautiful view of the mountain. The staff at the hotel was very nice, specially the personnel at the front desk (Anna and Martha), who were very kind and helpful. We also appreciate the kindness of the hotel staff and customers towards nature. They were helping take care of a cat that visits the outdoor terrace of the hotel. Hope they continue to do so as there are many cats in Croatia that need good care.

All service staff were brilliant particularly the reception ladies Anna & Martha who helped us. Very clean rooms and helpful cleaning ladies Great location Would highly recommend this hotel and hopefully be back Thank you for a lovely holiday x

My wife and I stayed at this hotel in September, (room 104). Lovely room with a great view, looking over the beach /sea.The room could do with a bit more wardrobe space and some drawers , but apart from that it was perfectly adequate. We would definitely recommend this hotel, the breakfasts and the meals we had were very good. The whole staff (reception, cleaners, waiters) were excellent,really helpful and friendly. We would definitely recommend this hotel and Makarska,as a great hotel and destination for a lovely summer holiday 😎

My only complaint about our stay is that we booked and paid for a sea view room but didn't get one. The room 206 didn't have a sea view because of the trees in front of it which completely blocked the view. The view was one of the most important criterias for us so we really felt cheated by the hotel. When I told the reception about this at the start of our stay they didn't react in any way. Would stay again but not in a sea view room.

This was our second holiday at this hotel,the rooms are ery modern with comfy beds and modern bathroom.The rooms are serviced daily, the breakfasts are buffet style with a good selection of fruit, yoghurts, pastries etc and you cn order omelets and other hot breakfast food.We chose the half board option and the evening meals were served outdoors overlooking the sea, great choice and waiterservice.The staff are lovely, as are the waiters, reception staff and the owners.It certainly deserves a four star rating
