Halfway House Inn ★★★
"Basic accommodation. Poor fitting curtains, mould on bath sealant, damaged basin surround, noisy floors, poor sound insulation. Evening meal portions small and fish overcooked. Didn’t get any breakfast as service did not start until 9 am too late for our onward travel. Customer service very poor and manager unpleasant and unhelpful."

The Edgcumbe Arms ★★★
"Delightful old fashioned pub overlooking Plymouth across the water. Very welcoming staff - they kept the kitchen open for me when traffic delayed me. The fish and chips was very good. Bedroom overlooked the water and Plymouth and was comfortable though the bed was hard and the bathroom tiny but functional. Its a bit of a hike round by road but ferry to Plymouth takes 8 minutes. Great place but difficult to justify the price"
