SeSaya Poshtel & Bistro - Colombo's Newest and Finest Poshtel Dorms and Rooms ★★★★

📍 234, 4 Sri Jayawardenepura Mawatha, Rajagiriya

"The environment here is great, and it has everything you need. There's a restaurant and supermarket right across the street, which is super convenient. The staff are incredibly warm and friendly. It's the perfect place to rest and relax when you're tired, and you can sleep until you naturally wake up. Absolutely fantastic!"

"Good staff team, clean dorm but hot water shower was not working during my stay. You can ask for borrowing a hair dryer, cold and hot drinking water is provided"

Edgefield Escapes ★★★★

📍 457/Q/27, Highway Edge, Jayagath Mawatha, Polgasowita

"During checkout, we faced a shortage of cash as the hotel did not accept UPI payments. I informed the owner that I would complete the checkout by 12:30 PM and left my 12-year-old son in the room while I travelled to Colombo to withdraw money. While I was on the way back, the hotel owner called me repeatedly, shouting and threatening that my son would be thrown out of the room if I did not return immediately. When I arrived, I found my son outside the room, crying and visibly distressed. The staff continued shouting aggressively and made insulting and discriminatory remarks, including stating that “Pakistan is better than India” and accusing us of being frauds. The behaviour was extremely unprofessional and humiliating. Despite explaining the situation and settling the payment, the shouting continued, and the situation became intimidating, to the point where I felt unsafe and feared physical confrontation. I chose to remain calm and leave with my son to avoid further escalation. This incident caused severe emotional distress to both me and my child, who is still in shock from the experience. I intend to file an official complaint with the embassy regarding this unacceptable and disrespectful treatment."

The Villa in Lavinia ★★★

📍 3, 26 Sri Dharmapala Mawatha, Mount Lavinia

"Everything was good but the room didn't have a table and a chair. It was better if those two were available because I wanted to do some work on my PC, but I couldn't. May be next time."

C1 Colombo Fort

C1 Colombo Fort ★★★

📍 37 Mudalige Mawatha, Colombo 01, Colombo

"Good location. Easy get halal food. Staff friendly. Can store the lugage. But the problem is washroom too slippery."

Granbell Hotel Colombo

Granbell Hotel Colombo ★★★★

📍 282/5 Kollupitiya Road, Marine Drive, Colombo 03, Colombo

"Great value for money. The high-floor ocean view is exceptionally wide and special, making you feel as though you're right out at sea. The interior decor is exquisite. While the rooftop pool isn't large, it is truly stunning with its infinity design. The front desk staff were all smiling and welcoming. However, the breakfast was honestly quite disappointing—way too many Indian dishes, which didn't suit our palate."

C1 Colombo Fort ★★★
"Stayed here again at the end of my trip — still a great choice! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I came back to C1 Colombo Fort for my last night in Sri Lanka, mainly because the location is so convenient. It’s right in Colombo Fort, close to many attractions and within walking distance of the beach. And when the Colombo heat gets too much, Uber is cheap enough that getting around is super easy. The staff were once again very warm, friendly, and helpful. They were always happy to assist and had given us some really useful recommendations during our first stay, especially for affordable local food. I also really appreciated the spacious lobby, which was convenient for waiting before check-in or after check-out. Just a small tip: hair dryers aren’t kept in the rooms, but you can ask the lobby for one and they’ll provide it. After staying here twice during the same trip, I can definitely say C1 Colombo Fort is a convenient and good-value option for exploring Colombo"

Granbell Hotel Colombo ★★★★
"Overall summary: Incredible value for money, highly recommended! Location: Facing the Indian Ocean, the lobby, breakfast room, guest rooms, rooftop bar, and swimming pool all offer unobstructed, direct ocean views. The train station right opposite the hotel is one stop before Colombo Fort Station. Express trains don't stop here, so you'll need to take a quick, inexpensive taxi from the main station, but it's a very short ride. If you love photographing trains and the ocean, you can capture great shots right from the hotel. Room & Amenities: The room facilities are decent. The bathroom faces the Indian Ocean directly, and there are USB ports by the bed, so no adapter is needed for the power outlets. Dining: The breakfast spread is very generous. If you have time, I recommend setting aside an hour to leisurely enjoy your breakfast while looking out at the Indian Ocean. Surroundings: There is a famous local ice cream shop just a 3-minute walk behind the hotel. It's also a very short taxi ride to One Galle Face Mall."
