The Shore Hotel & Residences

Great service and comfortable rooms, but with a few hiccups. The staff at reception were lovely. However, staying on the 32nd floor meant long waits for the lift during busy times. Also, the bathroom glass is quite see-through—not ideal if you're sharing the room with a friend. Overall, it was a good experience, but keep these points in mind.

Reception counter: Not really attractive. Bit tidy. Receptionist so polite. Lift: Not enough for check out time. Room: Big space. Few lights broken. Aircond not cold as per setting. Please service! Bathroom: Big but please clean it wisely.

The hotel location is superb, nearby many eateries and also walkable distance to Jonker street. The only thing is, waiting time for lift is too long even though not peak hour as they have too many floors.

I enjoyed my stay here, but there are some areas that could be improved. The door lock safety could be enhanced, and the toilet cleanliness could be better maintained.

The check-in process necessitates roadside parking prior to accessing the designated car park, which can lead to traffic congestion. The hotel's car park, located on levels 7 and 8, involves a rather arduous ascent. The premises comprise four blocks; two are residential, and two are hotel accommodations managed by separate entities. The room itself is spacious, featuring two beds, and is maintained to a clean and tidy standard. While there are four lifts, their operation is slow, and a transfer is required to reach the car park. Breakfast, a makeshift buffet of local, low-quality food, was provided; however, during my three-day stay, I opted for it only once as it was largely unexceptional.

The location is close to Kampung Morten, and you can easily walk at a relaxed pace to Jonker Street, which is about 1 km away. The room was comfortable and clean, with a nice mattress and pillows, strong aircond, hot shower working well, and free WiFi provided. The view from the higher floors is really nice, you can see Melaka town clearly and even the Straits of Malacca. The breakfast buffet was decent, not a huge selection but still enough choices to start the day. The shopping mall downstairs isn’t very interesting, and there aren’t many restaurant options available. The worst thing here is the lift service, ridiculously slow, sometimes taking more than 10 minutes just to wait for the lift.

Hotel room was well kept, almost faultless tho' its very dated and rough around the edges, but not dealbreaker. We love the shower area it was huge. Everything worked and stocked. Balcony nice views. Breakfast was good, looks like it shares w Swiss Garden hotel as well but variety overwhelming and loads of seating, moreover longest timing til 12pm great for late sleepers. The complex houses a shopping mall as well not fantastic but conveniences and alternative food choices avail itself. There's also a rooftop bar and viewing gallery as well, loads of eateries around the clock in the vicinity and a discounted boat ride for hotel guests. Parking seems like a pain on the 7/8 flr needs validating every exit, but other choices if one decides to pay on lower n ground valet. Overall, we'll return for the value. Attractions and Malls just drive or grab no issue, unless one wants to stay specific touristy area or want 5star hotel etc...

I recently stayed at The Shores Hotel & Residences. Overall, the room was spacious and comfortable, which made the stay quite pleasant. The size of the room is definitely a plus, especially if you’re traveling with family or need extra space. However, the biggest downside was the lift situation. The waiting time for the elevators was very long, especially during peak hours, which can be quite frustrating. It really affected the overall experience.

Good location. Oceanarium in the building. Breakfast buffet was so great. Lot's of choice make us so full 😅🥰 Staff is so friendly and helpful. Parking is free. Pool at 7th floor. Melaka Rivercruise is just next to hotel.
