"Wow - it was truly magical to stay in our Luxury Treehouse up in the rainforest. Everything about our stay was incredible from the staff to the wonderful attention to detail at every turn from the treehouse to the gardens to the cafe. We would recommend a stay in the Lizards Lair. Our interactions with George were particularly special and it was lovely to meet Aldy. A special thanks to the early morning ninja who delivered our croissants :-) From Kay & Chris, Stratford, NZ."

"The cabin was perfect for our 'off grid' romantic getaway. Great amenities with fully equipped kitchen so we didn't feel the need to go anywhere. Great check in and check out system via text and not feeling rushed to get there by a certain time or "deal with anyone". Very friendly hosts willing to help out when there was a power outage due to the storm, including fresh water being bought down to us. Power outage wasn't too much of an inconvenience with Gas stove and BBQ available, was REALLY off grid! Highly recommend visiting the donkeys with your scraps! Cabins seemed closer to each other than we expected but never heard much or felt crowded, noise carried very minimally from family next door. "

"Wow! I've stayed at couple's places before and there has always been an underwhelming factor.......Let's start with all that was good! 1. Parking right beside the accommodation. No lugging possessions or food along long, steep, winding paths. 2. Views forever down the valley and over the lake, especially from the verandah on two sides.. 3. Plenty of the right sized firewood as well as all the necessaries to easily start a fire. (Don't laugh, this is GOLD!!!!) 4. Really traditional Balinese fitout with raked ceilings. The place felt huge, welcoming and accommodating. The ensuite is huge with twin showers. Very romantic..... 5. Great local produce in the breakfast (Continental) hamper. 6. Welcoming, friendly hosts who responded immediately to the one small problem we had-flat batteries in the AC remote. So........plenty of space both inside and outside, class, ambiance, privacy, comfort and amenity. Yep, we will definitely return. Thanks Maleny Tropical Retreat. Cheers, Keith"

"Me my partner and some friends had lunch here recently. The setting is lovely the menu is varied we all chose different things from the menu. The food was all delicious. The waiting staff were very friendly and helpful. We however had a quite upsetting incident which involved one of the staff. I had left my mobile phone on the table when i went back to the reception of the restaurant i spotted our waiter i asked him if anyone had handed in a mobile. He was just about to answer me and a lady behind the counter started waving her hands in my face saying very loudly i will deal with you in a moment please don't talk to the staff. at that moment the waiter found my mobile and handed it back to me. I thanked him and said to the lady behind the counter please do not speak to me in such a rude manner. She turned away without saying sorry. I considered this very rude behaviour it upset me on a day when i was enjoying a lunch with friends. I am afraid i will not return."

"The valley induces restfulness. I had big plans to go out on the deck and meander my way through a book, but the natural sights and sounds of the valley captivated my attention then lulled me to sleep. My husband and I hadn't had a good holiday for about 7 years. I couldn't have wished for a better space to reconnect. We could have easily stayed at the cottage for all our needs were provided for there. However, the lure of Maleny, Eumundi Markets and Montville were a little hard to resist. The day was busy, but it was easy to recover in the restful space that Whispering Valley Cottage Retreat creates. The spa might have helped too. "
