I can add to what I have already written. I just realized I bought the corner room, which faces the sun directly, and you should look for it if you value sunlight. The balcony outside looks into some greenery below and a school right in the front. The sun flows all the way into the room and is very, very hot. This is a September morning.
The balcony is partitioned off with an aluminum frame, so I would still lock the door when leaving the room. My suggestion to have it cleaned after a couple of nights was promptly approved, and I left my things in a corner. The person in charge is very receptive to feedback and very prompt with what he can help with.
This is the off-season, so I can't be expecting a whole lot more than water bottles, but cold drinks they have not. I was going to wash my trekking water bottles with Coke. You will just have to step outside for a lot of these small knick-knacks, but everything is within 50 to 100 m of the hotel. Yesterday, I also trekked up to the Hidimba Temple, which is not that far from the hotel. It really is right there. I decided to extend the stay because the mall underneath and the places to hike up above are both doable. Some nice options are available higher up, but I don't know how many times you can go back to your hotel in that case in a day.
