"The facilities are old-fashioned, of course, but the bedding is white with embroidery, and looks quite clean. The environment is the best part; it's not just a garden, it's a whole estate, incredibly vast, I didn't even walk all the way. There's a tennis court, a grove of trees, and a small river. In the morning, I listened to the birdsong; at night, I watched the sunrise. It was just the three of us, enjoying the view."

"The hotel is next to a small river and bridge. If the weather is good, it should be a very beautiful rural scene. It's not far from Mont Saint-Michel, but it's suitable for self-driving. If you really want to take the train, it's not very convenient. In addition, many places are closed on Mondays, which is really different."

"We were not aware from the booking that there was no bathroom in the room, and it was a shock to discover that the toilets were shared and that there wasn’t even a sink in the toilets. There was neither hand soap nor towels. It was difficult to access our room, and we ended up getting help from the neighboring hotel. The hotel was very noisy, with a lot of disturbance from other guests, and we were woken up many times during the night. Overall, it was a really bad experience that we would not recommend."

"You don't get anything like this in England. Personally welcomed by the Mrs de Flottemanville [who speaks better Englsih than many back in blighty] the rooms have great character. This is a very relaxing spot and less than ten minutes walk from La Table de Henri the local high end restaurant (book in advance). How better to break your journey too and from the port of Cherbourg?"
