I booked this hotel while on the road and when I arrived the front desk attendant did not have my reservation and suggested that I should go get something to eat as third party bookings can take up to two hours. I offered my credit card so that I could check in, but he refused that saying it would cause a double billing. A few minutes later he said the reservation had arrived from Shanghai

I have no idea why it's called "Microtel" when the rooms as spacious as any other chain. The very modern and functional design was amazing! Even a reading nook with cushions and reading light. If it's in a town we're visiting, we'll select it! The only complaint was the the waffle mix was out for breakfast.

Clean, comfortable, quiet and cheap. Hotel appears to be brand new. Front desk person was very nice. Only thing I didn't like was the smell in the lobby and hallway, it smelled very strongly of incense or something similar.
